DRDO and PSUs

Time based detonator can fix the issue with Swarm creating a wall to eat the impact of proximity fuses.

Skyranger from krauts already does something like that. You can also use munitions with high rate of sharpnel dispersion to knockout alot of drones at once.

There is one I have been thinking about is creating interceptor drones with can be controlled by a autonomous computer and basically ram themselves into a drone swarm with explosives. It can even be manually controlled.
Unfortunately I am 100% sure that the fuze used by us with 30mm HEPF shell is a proxy fuze only. This is still not a programmable fuze or ahead type which the army and airforce wants. You will need to integrate a time functionality as well with the proximity functionality to make it a programmable round.

And a proximity fuze cannot be used against ground targets like infantry clusters. Here you need the time functionality rather than proximity functionality obviously because a proxy fuze won't be working well with ground so near to the shell. Here, making an electronic time only fuze should be rather easy than combined proximity+time, given that we have already made the harder proximity one. And with some good fire control system Electronic time fuze should be as good as proxy or even better as German AHEAD is basically a Electronic time fuze mated with prefeagmented shell.

Also, one fact is none other than rheinmetall in West has made a prefeagmented 30mm round. Others including US are still using basic HEI ammo with natural fragmention as airburst even for drone defense.

This one is ku band based and astra mk1's seeker is also ku band based. Does anyone know abt mrsam's seeker head ?
We have got alot of technology from working along iai on mrsam but it's time to replace it many of its components as imported or ig we should replace mrsam entirely with akash. I suppose once Akash begin production those same supply lines of mrsam will start rolling out akash NG. That's why yahudis are delaying akash ng ,just joking

So piercing together the SAM systems used over last 3 days from many threads:
1. Upgraded Bofors L70
2. SAMAR
3. Akash SAMs
4. S400
5. Plethora of jamming systems for soft kill.
Maybe starting from Himshakti etc to handheld jammers

I will not curse Antony for 7 days now. He ordered Akash.

Possibly time to re-read that Wings Of Fire again to pass my respect to the scientific community and engineers of our desh.

You’ve missed the MRSAM, S125-Pechoras, Zu-23s and Schilkas.
Was the DRDO DEW system mk1 also involved ? Any idea? Would be good to know

I have been hearing about DRDO's D4 system which played a huge role in neutralizing the swarm drones by non kinetic means including lasers. Similarly the role played by integrated air defence system like Akashteer, Akash SAMs and all the indigenous systems which protected our bases and HVTs is the real game changer. This proves that how our systems have matured and now can be relied upon to augment our defenses. Salute to our scientists and engineers without whom this would not have been possible. Now it's upto the govt and military leadership to show faith in our homegrown systems and trust our MICs to deliver. Let's try to decouple our military hardwares from foreign vendors as much as we can.
Indeed, even with a bureaucracy riddled, babu filled inefficient reservation chaap system in dpsu's we are still achieving this much, imagine if from day one we had nurtured a private MIC and done away with babudom and reservation in DPSUs ?

Yesterday, I asked a question about this radar.. There is another VHF radar being developed on a Leyland truck and I enquired what is the difference between this one and the other.. I was told that the other has 400 km range while this one has 250 km range.. now, this post says that this one also has 400 km range.. If so, why two different platforms with similar characteristics?

The Ashok Leyland one i.e Surya VHF is based on the Belarusian Vostok 3D radar. It is being produced by Alpha Design/Adani under licence. It has a range of 360km. It isn't GaN based like our indigenously developed one. Ours own VHF radar is much better than it.
