This is the Indian Army MRSAM regiment configuration.

Each regiment has 4 Firing units. Each FU has 4 TEL. So there are a total of 16 launchers per regiment. That's 128 ready to fire missiles.

Indian Army has ordered more than 500 missiles and 14 Firing Units so far.

Around 200 missiles have been delivered to IAF and IA so far.

Anybody know what does VSAT mean? virtual satellite? lol that doesn't make sense.

We can, military doesn't want it. They won't accept TAPAS as anything less than a HALE drone. But they are fine importing a MALE drone like this. There is nothing in this imported crop duster that we can't make here.

BF seems to be taking the CCP approach to things. First understand the tech , then absorb it before launching indigenous solutions kicking out the foreign partner which is the way to go about it .

We can, military doesn't want it. They won't accept TAPAS as anything less than a HALE drone. But they are fine importing a MALE drone like this. There is nothing in this imported crop duster that we can't make here.

If things continue as they are , the day won't be far when DPSU's will be out of the Drone game forever except UCAVs like Ghatak , CATs program , FUFA etc which isn't a bad thing at all .

We can't have premier defence R&D & mfg set ups into small arms , camouflages, parachutes , small drones & LMs , etc . Their job is to focus on cutting edge stuff like Fighter Aircrafts , its propulsion , tanks , capital ships & submarines - conventional & nuclear & so on .

Either they have the sagacity to voluntarily cede space or they get kicked out by smaller more nimble & agile players as is happening. The entire DPSU ecosystem is under an unprecedented assault .

Instead the GoI ought to plan things out , privatising as opposed to selling or emaciating DPSUs to the point where they either become BIFR cases or preferably shut down like so many PSUs . But then we've a clueless Raksha Mantri , an apathetic MoD & a PM who has his own idiosyncrasies.
