I know some countries have, but India in some other grade, dont forget we have relations with france/russia also.

My bet & keep my words, even GOI will not allow F35 to come.

I already mentioned their failures in not getting C-17 line to restart before in one post of mine.
They could have done that and made that plane production line India specific, also, a small C-17 like C-2 of Japan version but no, no news of that.
There are so many things other than Stryker one can buy, one must tell Trump to forget about Stryker lobby and look for billions elsewhere.
Modi should tell that him " we are here to give you dollars, not here to help general dynamics", atleast this much spine Modi and his "children settled in US" diplomats can show.

This is the reason I've argued many times in the past , HAL needs autonomy in operations & to add to this, clear focus on its charter which can only come with splitting it into 4 separate cos.

Otherwise this union baazi & babooogiri will one day spell the doom of this organization much like MTNL which no longer exists with nobody missing it either & that in the final analysis is the greatest tragedy.

It's like everytime I try to bat for HAL, they just come up with awful stuff like this. These people are not serious about even the products they are making, much less national defense. The Indian "chalta hai" attitude is fatal in this line of work and these people don't seem to get it through their thick skulls.

Oh Boy...it's a rabbit hole better left unexplored; you might get blackpilled beyond redemption.

Just for starter University of California (not top 10 or Ivy or something) filed 1718, 1570 and 546 patents in the period 2021-23. And here's a headline...

Everything boils down to things like vision, risk appetite and perhaps the most important, the incentive. For 99% of people here the vision is short term; getting an income source from CS-IT as soon as possible. And the incentive is just monetary while being extremely risk aversive.

It's a question of accountability. Back in the day , when 2 newly upgraded Mirage 2000s by HAL crashed , I posed a question to an ex HAL Nashik employee on Strat Front - what now ?

He replied - nothing. HAL & IAF would conduct an internal enquiry which being a Root Cause Analysis ( RCA) , rectify the problem & that's it. I asked him - what about fixing responsibility & accountability ? His reply - what's that ?

He's right . What possible accountability & responsibility can one fix in a union infested , babooo driven organization ?!

Accidents happen , lives are lost , DPSUs make changes & course corrections to the extent possible when they can not when it's needed , life goes on .....
