We stopped British partnership for last 40 years. Major project we dealt with them Jaguar. We generally avoid UK partnership. May be some bad vibes.

ALH is a proven platform and it is already doing service for decades. Only the Wheeled version of Navy and CG is in trouble.

Army wants competition for price negotiation.
No indian company except bharat forge/kalyani makes a 105mm mounted gun system, especially that can be used in himalayas, neither does any other indian company has expertise in making a 105mm mounted gun system for high altitude mountains.

Spoken too soon! SUPRISE!

H-125 is 1970s vintage Heli being positioned to cut down HAL LUH orders in favor of screwdrivergiri by Tatas. Babus & forces will soon be ready with a tender that somehow perfectly matches H-125 specs and save the day from evil HAL. Thankfully, Dhruv / Rudra don`t really have a equivalent available, yet

Chinese will be laughing their ass off everytime somebody mentions Aatmanirbhar.

Eurocopter EC145/Airbus H145M is the equivalent of our Dhruv

It is basically a bichda hua bhai since the German firm MBB which provided design assistance for Dhruv was bought by Airbus, the modern version looks very different but the original is sem2sem as Dhruv's current design

I guess dalals didn't get a chance, since the above had it's first flight in 1991 while Dhruv in 1992.

They couldn't do their usual dramas, it would be too on the nose.


Anyway LUH is dead on arrival, they are already doing some drama over 10 dB noise

The ALH Dhruv is still larger than the EC-145, it’s in a niche category where there’s no direct equivalent to it.
