Liberal here in India were happy. Many in right-wing and left - wing were in bonkers that Indian diplomacy failed. Here in DFI people cried that everything finished. Turned out everyone underestimated India and overestimated the other side.

It's rather everyone took chummah -e- ummah at surface value and didn't realize there is no way the Pathan will be the beech of the Pakjabi when he has no majboori like fighting and hiding from the Americans

Really? Where does that even come from ? They have been invaded and gang banged from outside powers for centuries. Geography plays an important role and thats about it. They have been at best pawns used and thrown when required.

As far as civilizational achievement goes, it all goes back to pre islamic era once again being part of Indian civilization. There can be achievements in hit and run warfare, which has been effectivefor them, what else?

off top of my head...

there was a paligar called turram khan, with about 500 fighters he went against a brit governor type called patrick something who was under protection of hyderabad nizam. khan lost, and his body was hung at palace gates as a message. not freedom movement related.

Just think about of our situation where we induct weapons on par with Chinese PLA in terms of SPH, Fighters, Naval Ships.
