in just a week, NAMIS and NAG missiles got orders from army's side,
and now LCH Prachand got massive orders

now if they're going to put indigeneous main gun and rockets on the Prachand, it's high time they also speed up developments of helicopter versions of VSHORAD and NAG missiles for Prachand to put in place of those french maal there

Reupping again - What is the status of ATGM integration on Prachand? Looks like only martian trials are pending?

Had the armed forces not signed the contract on grounds that x sensor hasn't been integrated & y weapon hasn't been certified for usage on the LCH , you'd kick up a storm here saying the they're looking for ways to sabotage the project for imports.

Right now you're demanding answers to whether ATGMs have been integrated onto the LCH ? What if it isn't & is scheduled to be undertaken in the next few years ?! Add to that the self protection suite , EW system ( we still don't know if they're developing an indigenous alternative or going in for the SAAB subsidiary from RSA version we're using on the Rudra / ALH - WSI ) & a few other sensors & weapons I can't recall which were under trails.

You can't have it both ways.

Hal lch shares the transmission & control system from luh. Isn't it concerning as luh have crashed alot in recent times because of failure of control rods and later on because of swash plates.

Some say due to change in control rods Metalurgy the swash plate came under pressure maybe due to increase in weight. not sure

this should be looked into otherwise after some usage lch might crash like luh.

This issue is neither solved yet. Hal has to tackle more serious issues compared to ew ,weapons Integration.

First, Scientists of UN forces need to decide what exactly fault in ALH?? Some says control rod, some says Swash plate and some says Design fault.

Import Generals themself asked to change iron control rod by a Aluminium one. Now crying a river.

I think, Crash will decrease automatically now because further crash is not going to serve any purpose as LCH deal has been signed now.

Hey bruh, chill , am not saying that, you're imagining things. What frustrated me is that an ATGM is a very important requirement for an attack helo and it sure has hell should not have taken so long to pick one and integrate with prachand (look at the timeline shared by @ezsasa ). Whether its bcos of HAL dumb babooz or IAF playing games with indig maal , I don't care. If you recall ex late CDS BiRa ji also had issued a statement saying Prachand is toothless without ATGM, hence my constant harping on this topic.

Prachand needs a bit of work, and we might see them getting fixed as they are getting inducted.

As advocated by many defence experts, induct -> support iterative refinement -> refined product. Instead of waiting for everything to get fixed.

Weapon platform -
  • 20mm indigenous chin-gun instead of imported Nexter gun. Manufacturing of ammunition as well.
  • 70mm indigenous rockets & rocket pods.
  • Most importantly, ATGM. I think we will shortly see Dhruvastra trials from LCH.
Sensors platform -
  • Indigenous RWR + MAWS suite instead of SAAB one.
  • Indigenous opto-electronic suite.

in the services conferences that are online this past year, IA representatives are repeatedly saying they will not delay induction if equipment manages to meet 80% of SQR. for example: in a recent CENJOWS anti-UAS conference video i had posted in some thread, there is a mention that FRCV will come in three phases(not all at once).

Looks like the slow realisation dawning on IA that playing the long game with indig weapons despite initial hiccups will pay off in the future & more importantly avoid overdependence on foriegn mic and arm twisting.

Hope GoI also realises this & stops playing military hw diplomacy & giving jiziya to joos, roos & unkil

since we have VSHORAD now, a fork of it should be developed, to supplement or take place of Mistral-2 AA missile

in fact i think it's already done as we have that 'Crosshair' air defense system with ~8 of them mounted on an automated platform

with that, we would've covered most basic aspects on an attack helicopter/gunship
