Sorry I fully support the actions of the state. Rabies is a serious concern and did anyone forget on DFI on how a 8 year old boy was destroyed by rabies? Rabies is a terrible disease. It basically turns the infected into zombies. Better that some squirrels or raccoons get killed than an innocent child get killed because some asshat cannot recognize that wildlife is what it is: wildlife that cannot be tamed and best left alone.

Opossum, raccoons, squirrels, skunks, foxes, and groundhogs are considered vector animals. Dogs and cats were considered vector animals but laws requiring vaccination and widespread control have managed to turn domestic dogs and cats into non-vectors but the same cannot be said for feral cats or dogs.

Look at how many people die from rabies in America versus death by rabies in India. It is less than 10 deaths per year while it is 18k-20k per year in India. So yeah you can say that America's approach is vastly superior to India's approach.

I think you have lost perspective. I just told you how many people die from rabies in India and it is not a small number whereas in America less than ten people die. Have you ever see how a person die from rabies? It’s devastating. Sorry your argument holds no water.

Nah, this is just overreach by the government in the "land of the free". Squirrels very very rarely if ever get rabies, and this one was living indoors for the past 7 years it seems, so pretty much 0 chance of getting rabies.

Now dogs are a different thing, rabies is more prominent and (humane) euthanasia is a standard practice in lot of countries for stray dogs and should be in India as well.
