he answet t this is easy. Pakistan became embroiled in arms race with India since the 1980s and while India fixed its economy in the 90s to afford the arms race and enter big leagues of arms acquisitions (we have bought aircraft carrier, leased nyookoolar attack sub, leased landing docks - these are, on paper 3 of top 5 most expensive and exclusive military tech on the planet). Pakis instead chose to shoot themselves in the foot economically by choosing to be jihad factory ( and now its too late to course correct) and are on economic life support due to it.
But at the same time, Paki military is nothing to be sneezed at, on land. Theoretically on paper, on land, they can pretty much roll anyone west of them up to Turkey & Israel and give takkar to them (again, on paper in terms of hardware, experience, manpower, etc of airforce and army).
They can make pulao of Iran in a few months flat if nobody else was involved, pakis had enough oil to run full tilt for a couple of months, etc.
yes, they are no match for us, but while i wont agree or disagree if Pakis are indeed in top 10 ( i dunno enough of world power balance in detail to make said assessment), what i will say, is that they aint a joke for rest of the world. Iran wouldnt dare take direct takkar with pakis, even if Iran got nukes.
