Tho, again, was it a one time case if somebody's life being saved? Or it was common?

It's been quite a while since he uploaded that piece, but I'll see if I can find it. In short, as far as I can remember, he didn't have a direct study to cite, but was inferring so by contrasting American Sherman crew casualties with those from the UK.

How were those casualties inferred on uk crewman? Small arms fire?
Or bumping around inside tank? Did the UK crewman had any helmet? Soft one like soviets?

Overall American helmets do provide small but significant chance of survival in modern combat situation compared to soft soviet helmet, especially in certain specific cases, Like spalling.
