I think most corrupt department is artillery and armour both disregard indigeneous systems and seek foreign systems despite having world class atags,whap.

dont know why does the army keeps on issueing RFP for 155mm towed gun

IA completed the induction of 114 Dhanush 155mm Towed Guns
Now ordered 307 units of ATAG 155mm Towed Guns last year with deliveries starting in 2025.

Now we see another RFP for 400 Towed guns with a caveat that the weight should be less than 15 tons,
so ATAGs at 18 ton weight are out.
and we are left with 2 contenders
Dhanush built by Ordinance Factory Board and Bharat 52 Built by Kalyani.

Now army will spend next 2 years testing them, before finalizing on Dhanush gun once more .

Our current stockpile of 200 Bofors and 740 M46 155mm Towed guns are over 40 years old . Had army kept its original induction plans announced after Kargil war, we would have inducted 1580 modern 155mm Towed Guns and would have scrapped our older stockpile.

IA must fast track MGS trials and look to order in numbers. We need shot and scoot option desperately when our rivals both are armed with MGS in numbers. DRDO MGS is most capable one and hope we induct in numbers

It is to induct an Israeli gun based on C.lobby plan.

Otherwise common sense dictates that you cannot induct different systems from different vendor. Ideally we induct the Dhanush from current 114 to 400 and get things done. We just have an artillery of ATAGS, Dhanush and Upgunned M46 Sharang, M777 ULH.

They should start to get the Self Propelled Artillery/Howitzers into the armed forces. Pakistan beat us clinically here. PLA is different beast all alltogether.
