food security, shortages nd any disasters make food very costly....so dont take farming nd agriculture industry lightly. if dollar status go down, food/grain etc can become medium for business. indonesia already doing barter business from their palm oil. it will become new norm.5.8 million people generating 282 billion worth of economic value. These are the most productive people in the country and the CEO's are trying to squeeze 80 hour week from this group squeezing everything they are worth.
Apart from this we have small businesses, labourers and then a large group of unproductive people stuck in farming and other low productivity sectors.
Anyone has the stats of the employment generated by manufacturing in the country it was estimated to be around 20 million last time I checked
Farming is fine but we don't need almost half of our population engaged in itfood security, shortages nd any disasters make food very costly....so dont take farming nd agriculture industry lightly. if dollar status go down, food/grain etc can become medium for business. indonesia already doing barter business from their palm oil. it will become new norm.

Yes, but they are not making the "diode" part here. Only the packaging. Can laptop screens also be manufactured in mass here? I think there are some LCD,LED factories in Noida

Theoretically they move to cities. There aren't enough manufacturing or industrial jobs in the country,so where do we shift such a humongous population?
On top of that, most farmers employ the same traditional, monsoon-dependent, labor-intensive methods from the days of Harrapa and Mohenjo Daro, leading to lower efficiency and yields.
This is quite dangerous for the country in the long term, as we are extremely vulnerable to climate change. Just two consecutive years of drought will lead to mayhem in the country as hundreds of millions will be pushed to poverty and destitution.

Sucheta Dalal in vintage form performing a post mortem on The New India Assurance Co-operative Bank collapse.
Apparently it was founded by the former DM , the late George Fernandes when he was a trade union leader in Mumbai , essentially for the working classes.
What a fall !
If something is not produced at all in India then fine import that part. Atleast start coming up with a finished product designed and manufactured inhouse. The entire screen assembly yes, the panel must be imported since we don't have fabs to produce those here.
That old man from Vedant was trying to scam the govt into releasing money for his JV with Foxconn but foxconn only dumped him![]()
