Indian Navy Developments & Discussions (11 Viewers)

arreh chaha its a 800 tonne boat.

Isko kaun hi attack karega missile se.

If things have come to such a level that your ASW SWC boats are being hit by Anti Ship missiles, then brother you have lost the war.
jaazbewali navy might target few patrol boats of ours and claim to their inbred plebs that, they have sunk vikrant.

Author is Paki btw

Some Paki exfart there concedes that PN is only a coastal defence force :pmegusta:
Unlike India's blue water navy

The author lies however than PN has 8 submarines

I believe they had only 2 active submarines during Op Sindoor. The other 2 in service ones were in dry dock, for the taking with Brahmos steep diving.

It's" aljazeera".
As for rest, they don't work.
They write articles for pak gov.
And pak gov. Pays these news outlets to publish those.
You can write your article, and if you "pay" these agencies they will publish yout article too.

Th
Wished if it had more stealthy design. Will get the job done ✅
First it does have rcs reduction shaping, but not as extensive as seen on other modern vessels.
Stealth shaping cost money, and require lot of restructuring of equipment and structures which are Harder to do the smaller the vessel gets, not only that custom modifications are needed to be made on the equipment.

They are designed to operate near the coast, to detect and hunt any submarine that managed to sneak past and arrive and lurk near coast to target our land based assets.
Stealth won't help them much in this role.

Second, no enemy surface vessel and aircraft are supposed to come close enough to target them, or make extensive effort to target them.
If they do managed to get close enough and are targeting these, you already lost.

So it's just not worth the cost to go for a more stealthy hull in this case.

I thought it will have VLSRSAM for Air defence. But it is missing.
Where will you fit VL-SRSAM on such a small corvette sized ship? If something like an ASuW missile makes it past the other ships in the vicinity, the only logical option is to use soft kill measures (chaff and EW) and CIWS (30mm NGS), then cut and run.

They're essentially half a Kamorta Class corvette (there were an 8 additional P 28A ASW corvettes planned however we proceeded with 16 ASW-SWC) which itself is FFBNW for 6x2 or 8x2 VL-SRSAM.

TIL the "induction" is only some official ceremony, sailors and officers are already on the ship doing their day-to-day duties.

So technically some ships may already be in service without being officially comissioned?
Ongoing sea trials before official induction of the vessels into the force.

They can/should make a sequel of the Kamorta class tho once VLSRSAM development is complete.

The matter of Towed Sonar is also fixed with that company being the domestic manufacturing partner of Atlas Electronik

The shipyards can get one out in 4-5 years while actual new submarines will take 10 years, we need ocean going ASW till those are online?

If you want to cover more ground and deal with submarines more effectively, you need C295 MPA/ASW and P 8I in coordination with some dedicated naval assets (Kamorta Class, ASW-SWC) and UAV/USV.

The C295 Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) version is equipped with Airbus’ in-house-developed Fully Integrated Tactical System (FITS) tactical system, and is fitted with underwing stations to carry weapons and other stores. In addition to launching sonobuoys, the C295 can deploy torpedoes, anti-surface missiles and depth charges. Chile and Spain have acquired the C295 for service in ASW missions.

Chalo let's hope the order for this goes through.
Should be easy enough since the C-295 is made here.
