Indian Navy Developments & Discussions

It's flying with an old AShM missile; Kh-35.
It's fine.. BTW how's NASM-MR gonna be better?

Rare photo of an IN MIG-29K taking off with a weapons payload. In this case we can see a Kh-35 and an R-73 missile.

Also btw could you please share the sauce.
Found it on Twitter.

It finally confirms that our Mig-29k can lift-off from IN Carriers with a fueltank & atleast 2 missiles while carrying AShM. And if it it can take 500kg Kh-35 there's a good chance it'll carry the 570kg Rampage & 600kg NASM-MR with some A2A & fuel.

Already told you it can carry approx 2.5 ton payload with 60% fuel using long runway of vikrant

F404. HAL was warned from the very beginning to get things moving lest engine deliveries become a problem. They sat on it till the last possible moment.
We are moving ahead with plans to produce the GE F414 in India. When TEDBF enters service in late 2030s, the engine will have already been produced in large numbers in India.

MiG-29K's can't do arrested landing with any considerable payload due to weak landing gear so if they take off from our carriers with large payload they have to ditch millions worth of ammunition in sea to land safely.
That's why we don't see them usually taking off from carriers with any payload.

Let's say if we had a war with China in 2035 and we decide to do a blockade strategy. And then how much Naval strength we would need to go against both Pakistan & China. Even possibly Shri Lanka? Like how many Subs, how many destroyers, how many frigates do we have to build/ we would need to handle both of them?

Ahh I agree. Be it additional C17, F404. Both were victims of babooze lethargy. Sometime they think they world will fall at their feet for piddly orders.
When exactly was the contract for the LCA Mk-1a signed between MoD & HAL ? If I'm not mistaken the entire matter was stuck up in negotiations for 3 years or so we were told before the agreement was signed .

However the order for the GE F-404 was placed in the first quarter of 2021. I wonder how much advance was paid to GE & from whose pockets did it come from ?

Btw this bit of news should also be seen by everyone kicking HAL now since it's down.

I wonder how many Pvt Sector cos can carry such a debt leave aside tolerating it & mind you HAL's a listed company . If some shareholder drags HAL to SEBI , GoI will be severely embarassed.

To conclude I'm not supporting HAL , they've plenty of shortcomings like any other DPSU apart from an identical culture , but instead of blind criticism & abuse which is now seemingly normalised here after DFI , how about a critical appraisal for once ?

The criticism if you see is on babooze. And that criticism spans baabooze in all spectra of Indian govt machinery. Notice additional C17 also mentioned in my comment? I mentioned specifically to reflect genral babucracy lethargy

Binayak may know thing or two why he thinks HAL also had hand in engine delay
