Indian Private Defence Sector

Don't think HAL can succeed in civilian aerospace unless it's privatized or by some miracle they fix PSU "culture" of chai-biscoot and araam, so it's not a loss there.

They've already received partial EASA certification from the EU designated body which is mandatory from the safety PoV, Insurance as well as for making a sale. If HAL wasn't interested in going international they wouldn't have made this move for it's a pretty expensive exercise.

No clue if HAL has approached EASA for a full certification & the procedures as well as time taken for it. They should've applied for similar certification from the FAA in the US. Once again there's no news on this

However I think this is a scheme by Airbus to snipe the LUH with the ((( Users ))) fully cooperation by doing nakhra over it's FOC/Induction whatever, since they already will be having a plant before making any bid, they have an advantage over other imported maal vendors easily apart from being on equal footing with HAL assuming "domestic assembly" is the only requirement.

The services won't opt for it even if they can. Apart from everything else it doesn't meet their specifications. Rest assured, GoI won't permit it & herein lies the dichotomy of the approach.

OTOH it wants indigenisation & OTOH it wants to blindly promote MII without taking into consideration the ill effects this move would have on our own domestic product in the civilian aerospace market.

Hell this same Airbus ignored GoI's requests for setting up a FAL like they did in China for their passenger jet liners here for it didn't suit them . Why're we then encouraging such efforts by them when it doesn't suit us?
This is literal assembly btw, Engine and electronics from France, chassis from Germany and Tail-boom from Spain
That's what all these companies do in the initial stages. Once they acquire the desired market share which it will, they gradually move in for local production of other components & sub assemblies.

Just an doubt?
So this project is to provide near real time surveillance capability which is currently limited to us?

Tonbo is literally stolen tech from US.

the company's owners were blacklisted for decades in the US
👍 good, finally some Bharatiya company showing some bollocks and stealing back from the west . Something chinka is doing from a loooong time, and something we should be doing in spades instead of proudly chest thumping "we follow IP laws and rules based order". After stealing everything under the sun from us its a bit rich that we should follow their IP laws LoL.

Also "everything is fair in love and...."

LUH not ALH.

They may keep screeching about "U BLOODY CIVILIANS MAKE ME USE THIS CRASHMAXXXING HELO REEEE!!!!!" but there are already 400 in service apparently

LUH is the single engine one which they have sent for (((changes))) over muh decibels the last i heard
400 ALH in use by Import Air force & army is proof that miracles do happen !

Imported army be like
Yey moar Jetpacks
Naaah, its not imported, so IA will be most likely asking for ISRO to test it in space with a vyomanaut before ordering a dozen or so...

One or more of their products were in use with the US military, imaging or sensor systems. That too before they were noticed by the Indian military. Armenia has also obtained them.
