Indian Small Arms and Weapons (12 Viewers)

The most murders in the US was committed by 22lr. DJ Shipley of GBRS group remarked that the much acclaimed MP7 with it 4.6mm had such bad energy dumping characteristic that sometimes, they would find it's bullets in blankets in Afghanistan that Taliban members would wrap themselves in during winter. P90's 5.7 is very similar to 4.6. (GIGN uses it, so does SG, with ACOG no less).

Point is, all of these round have been used in real world ops to some success.

In my opinion, these rounds could be great state controlled militia rounds. No capability to fight back against a professional force but capable enough to overwhelm or fix terrorists till the Army finishes them off so the government babus don't hyperventilate fearing a revolution when they go to sleep. :creepy:
5.7 FN is actually better than MP7 s round 4.6 HK..
I remember reading somewhere that P 90 trumped MP7 in every NATO tests conducted in the 90 s. NATO was about to Adopt P90 but Germany vetoed it ( Surprise 😁).
P90 has better Armour piercing capability, Stopping power, and better Range.

MP7 is better design in my honest view than P90, if those krauts had swallowed their pride with it and adopted 5.7x28mm for MP7 I'm sure it would have been a great success for them.

I also wish our guys take a great look at MP7 design and build a JVPC successor on that in 5.56x30mm MINSAS

Opinions on these rounds is all over the place although 5.7>46 is pretty uniform.

Honestly, I don't think anyone should use these over 9mm or 45 acp. Modern 9mm or 45 acp with +p+ ammo will penetrate any armor 4.6 or 5.7 may do with lesser barrel length and cause a lot more damage after penetrating through. 4.7 or 5.6 are like .22 wmr and that is a classified varmint round.

If you MUST go to a pistol calibre esque round for your primary weapon, I guess the 7.5 FK BRNO shows a lot of promise. Thing is super straight to 200 meters out of a pistol. If they develop a short stroke SMG or even a direct blowback with a buffer spring, it would rock the world. Of course, we can only salivate with India's gun laws and not actively test or build.

Makes me mad.

Today's guns are severely limited by their choice of ammo due to incumbency and availability of common rounds. Otherwise we have far better rounds than your common 5.56, 5.45, 9mm etc out there.

I respectfully disagree, the P90 is more simple and has larger capacity magazines, and in my opinion its looks cooler to me.

The P90 has a very different manual of arms. A guy familiar with AR pattern would easily figure out the MP7. Not so with the P90.
Also the "hand meets hand" kind of reload is really natural (from what I've heard) especially for reloading in low light conditions.

The P90 has 50 rounds as opposed to the MP7's 40 so not that big of a difference too. Both are fine weapons though.

MP7 is less durable btw. Buttstock breaks off easily, thing gets pulled out if you pull too hard, the charging handle hits you in the face if it's firing full auto sometimes.

Good video on the topic-

Honestly, as an Indian citizen emasculated and disarmed by the government, I find both fucking beautiful.

But Guns were retarded idea.
BE is a massive company with a massive ecosystem of vendors. They must have figured that they have the expertise somewhere. They should have worked with SSS defence, both being Bangalore based. Would have been the best option. Bharat Forge is an extraordinarily competent company but BE-SSS would have been equally formidable .

Quick question here, who are the intended recipients of the ARDE CQB carbine? What would be it's intended role in the modern Indian Army infantry section?

1. Sig 716i (7.62x51 mm) - Battle Rifle and SDMR
2. AK 203 (7.62x39 mm) - Assault Rifle

The AK 203 has a foldable buttstock and can even be used by Mechanized Infantry with relative ease in cramped BMP-2 IFVs.

The AK 203 will actually have better penetration, lethality and range due to its 7.62x39 mm round as compared to the ARDE CQB's 5.56x45 mm round.

Is this carbine being procured purely for rear echelon units and Ghatak teams?
