Indian Small Arms and Weapons

ARAD is just an AR-15 with a short stroke gas piston added to it. But as it's still an AR-15 at its core, it suffers from two of the most noticeable issues of AR platform...you can't fold the stock (atleast on the 5.56 variant) and the placement of charging handle is pretty awkward.

ARAD belongs to the "0.5 gen" between the next generation and the previous generation. Some other examples would be H&K's 416 or SIG Sauer's 716P; basically an AR with a short stroke piston.

Carmel belongs to the group of next generation platforms like Bren 2, H&K 433, SCAR 2, Type 20...the modular, polymer constructed, highly ergonomic rifles that trace their lineage back to Magpul's Masada and AR-180.
Afaik, Carmel is also locally produced in India by PLR screwdriverwalas. Entire lineup was on offer. But SF picked up Arad.
