Indian Special Forces

We can't drop high yield bombs like that on Doda Ramban kalakote etc but we surely can use Gunships to rain down hell. Imo gunships + proper cleanup using ISR closely followed by SF raids is the best we can do. Or if we wanna go the longer method. ISR by drones, Low visibility insertion of large amount of SF along with VDGs or maybe small sections of CI inf bns for higher areas where SOG can't reach easily and SOG in other areas.

p.s to the agencies walas here - I am just giving my 2 kaudi opinion on this topic. I am not trying to divulge any operational info
I get that we can't use fighters.. I dont opt for either but I never understood why our doctrine never included gunships.. even during the peak of insurgency we only fought them on foot. Personally I like your drone ISR idea more but it won't work cuz it's too ambitious for us therefore gunships + SF tactics are to see

Gunships are tricky ..
In our military with almost no standardization and involvement of multiple different agencies and unit IFF will be a mess .

During fire missions at war times their is only one org present and their positions and deployments are closely monitored by the command center. In CI ops in jungles with multiple small units spread over a large area and little coordination and mapping chances of blue on blue is huge . It's even harder during night but just the standardization of ir becons will clear out nearly all the issues.

If any blue on blue occurs the responsibility will lie with the person calling it in , most will not call in strikes as they won't take the risk .

Drone strikes called in by SF CCTs who have eyes on target will be our best bet .

Bhaijaan hold hold 🙋

No he was in 9.
All 3 units had different companies engaged in insurgency back then and were hunting in the valley and NE, and they would often run into one another.
Also they both were coursemates from IMA
Sapru uncle is ex 1PARA! He raised the 31 RR Cdo and operated in the valley in RR only. Maj Walia and other officers from 9 & 10SF used to meet and often hunt together.
