I am a SSB reject... multiple attempts.

Back in those days... what sickened me was in those "know your army" fairs... there is that one tent where officers/JCO's interact with aspiring young lads and hand out pamphlets having info on various entry schemes... but such info was on one page only... the rest 4-5 pages described perks, benefits & officers lifestyle with pictures.

You are a f**king fighting force... ye kya appease kar rahe ho jhunjhuna dikha ke... recruit those who will join you even if such perks/benefits are not available

Looking at present realities which i was unaware in the innocence of youth... Agar mera recruitment ho gaya hota... I would have resigned or gone into silence.

I live in a garrison city... and scores of veterans are my contacts... meet in service personnel during train journeys... they are so much focused on the canteen.
 
This time the forces had the advantage, got the int of their exact location and nos


Encounter was not in the deep forest, the patch where the encounter was going on was surrounded villages and civil area

They were a new ground doesn't know the area


Only slow response and night blindness cost us

My brother was matyred on LOC and my old man also passed soon and despite only dreaming to join Army and nothing else i was emotionally blackmailed to opt for either merchant navy or commercial pilot training.

I was in depression for few years but after a few years my friends who joined started jokingly telling me..acha he tu nhi aya.

Which never made sense to me nor they explained until the time i hit defence forums and after a few years started connecting the dots.

I wont like to say anything negative but jo hota he ache k liye hota he.

Maybe if my kids want to join i will also do the same emotional blackmail if the condition of Army remains same.

On a serious note the number of times terrorist have escaped after first contact specially in the ones Para SF is involved in recent times is not even funny anymore.
