The thing is, we are not in the army to respect a general whatever it may be. For us he is just another govt employee and doesn't warrant blind respect. But, if we are in the army then its a different case. Most of the junior officers in the IA become a high ranking officer like generals they stop being soldiers and become babus. There is a huge rot in the army, people like mountain plague rat and bratty are the by product of that rot. The army is in a shitty state cause of that rot. Lot of my relatives were in the defense forces and they were all completely against me joining at that time, I didn't understand why. Then I started experiencing this rot from NCC itself however, I was too naïve to understand it then. 10- 15 yrs later now I understand why my relatives didn't want me to join. Sadly even the good ones gets overshadowed cause of a few bad apples.
