Indian Special Forces

This operation as a strategic failure for the indian armed forces. The fact that Special Forces are being used for an operation in which Infantry should be more than capable of handling is proof of the fact that Indian Infantry (more namely RR) has been outmodernized by the militants.

In the 90s and early 00s 20 terrorists killed was a norm in an operation
There is no RR in Jammu Samba Kathua range, just regular Infantry, Armoured and SF

Still we didnt use BMPs and called a tractor for operation.

I know i know…Tractors generate higher horsepower and can sprint 0-100 in 1.15 seconds besides Tractors are far superior than what a BMP can ever dream to be in terms of Armoured protection and better machine gun plus superior under belly protection.

RR doesn’t operate in Kathua.

Sure…So your understanding of the situation is that its a manpower issue?
Also the settling of undesirables by Mehbooba mufti in this belt. The road network in this region is poor as well so cordons cannot be effectively deployed. Also police and MI have been sloppy with intel in this region due to the peace it enjoyed for last 20 years.

I will believe you if results are same after U force returns.
I don't think this is a manpower issue, our training standards have been in a limbo for a long time while the trts are adapting and using new tactics. Sure you can pour in manpower, but that's not how CI/CT ops should be done. Using SF for every operation of this nature isn't the answer either. We need to adapt and incorporate better training, because we are falling behind

What training standards specifically?
