What training standards specifically?

I'd say we lack heavily in night fighting capabilities right now, and some of our tracking skills that ipkf vets had (This is just what I can see for this op, but there are a lot more plaguing the SF)

Major Sapru said in a recent podcast that in Lanka the number of soldiers lost were high which lead to a lot of drinking problems in Para and PTSD.

But this war built them and unfortunately for us it could not be upped.

I think the PTS valley vets have is different from the PTS IPKF vets have . The area/type of operation and the motive behind the war effect PTS .
My relative from my mother's side has some pts , not majorly from combat but from road accidents he saw during running supply runs in remote areas . Strangely all his nightmares were reduced once he locked up all his military stuff in the store room . Shit's spooky .

I think the PTS valley vets have is different from the PTS IPKF vets have . The area/type of operation and the motive behind the war effect PTS .

PTSD happens more where the soldiers have no reason to fight maybe thatswhy in Kashmir there is still less as compared to Lanka.

Create an eco-system for night fighting by integrating fighting units/formations with ISR reqd as per the threat level. Provision of I² and TI should be stdized throughout all forces incl state police and capfs. Night time fire drill SOP(s) should be upgraded to contemporary stds.

Still we didnt use BMPs and called a tractor for operation.

I know i know…Tractors generate higher horsepower and can sprint 0-100 in 1.15 seconds besides Tractors are far superior than what a BMP can ever dream to be in terms of Armoured protection and better machine gun plus superior under belly protection.

Man the change they underwent from then to now is insane. Meanwhile paras still looking same except a rare few

SOG and JKAP needs proper equipment too..they are at the front even more than BSF.

My cousin brother was a ex SOG and he used to tell how difficult it was for them…they are deployed at places where the next Army units were 25 kms away and a threat of attack anytime.

So contrary to what was thought earlier, Army HQ didn't convert all regular Para bns to SF ones ? 5 Para bns are still there.

Well Well Well, guns were more or less same for 5 decades. Still advanced small arms. Hmm. We should ask journalist to identify APC from the list of photos like how google ask whether you are human or not.
