Indian Special Forces

Southern command se utha lo, itni manpower chahiye to.
We have lot of excess manpower in many other sectors that can be brought into kashmir
accusing Agniveer for lack of manpower is wrong.
Pick and fit doesn't work, we have to train, acclimatize a regular army soldier before deploying him as an RR soldier. School ka panga thorde na hai buddy.
One guy is looking after 3 jobs…i wont say which place which position but thats how it is.
This is what I am saying, our adversaries know these things and are straight away targeting such places using cheap 2 kodi ke terrorists.

The time requried to acclimatize a regular army soldier and train him for kashmir will be lower than the time to train a new recruit.

Leave the French, this is your average airsoft larper and still managing to beat the entire SF (except marcos) in terms of equipment
Post Pahalgam.....
When we have a so-called 'elite counter-terrorist' Kali Billi 'Special Force' created by Policewala Babus..budgeted 1000s of crores...but we arent even using them in the terrorist hotzone of the country.

Still sending Para SF armed with age-old equipment to hunt down well-trained terrorists!
Wastage of resources!

NSG isn't all that special either. They'd get mowed down if deployed. Even their equipment isn't any better than Paras.

Marcos would be much better but that's not their mandate so it'll never happen

Yeah you cant use NSG for those ops either.

@Airborne22 and @COLDHEARTED AVIATOR
Brothers, lots of soldiers are there in peace posting as well.
There will be 10K soldiers at least in Ambala at any given time.
Picking 1000 and creating 2 RR units is not a difficult job given the troops are trained and proper acclimated.
Only issue is infra/budget, does army have that infra/budget to house these 1K troops in required places ?

In terms of skill NSG is the same as 26/11.

budget is not an issue for this.

My response was for the question : why can't we put more boots on ground in Kashmir by pooling soldiers from other places.

You might have heard about creation of a mountain division to counter Chinese which relieved RR in ladakh.
Why did we take 1.5 years to raise ? It's not like soldiers we especially trained in MW, it was simply resources creation and logistics related activities that took that much time.

That shortage is for high level posts which is basically a manpower shortage.

Why we dont pullout troops from other region i dont know..is it a work life balance that the Army is giving or is it not important only they can answer.

Infrastructure and budget is always there to accommodate more troops.

Every SF geek on this thread must watch this podcast - one of the finest SF operations that too the first and last on foreign soil (officially).

Brig Mukherjee, SM** is such a fine narrator that he takes the lead in making the story engaging with minimal questions/probing from the hosts.

And Para SF was on its peak during the late 90s to the early 00s. Period!

The on ground learning on the job involving fastroping with mitten gloves while slithering down from Chinooks or modifying a MMG to fire from a hip position by installing foregrips, slings and drum mag belts, etc. goes on to say how much can a unit upskill during a conflict.

Also entails details of working hand in hand with the British SAS and how good of a fighting force they were. Truly ahead of time.

Wish we'd kept on collaborating with the Brits.

At the end, the Brigadier says what's said by any truehearted SF operator, "All SF units across the world are similar and at par with each other - it's the country's geopolitical standing, focus and priorities that shape them up differently."

Op Khukri certainly hasn't received the the kind of commendation and fanfare it deserves.

It also pains me to imagine what our Special Forces could be if not let down by idiotic people and their egoistic lobbies at the top...

bruh what

The fact that this is unironic is what's even more saddening
The fact that he is so nonchalant while talking about using flare guns during a night ops while he is trying to prop himself up as a "tactical gear" expert is such an oxymoron.
He really thinks its fine to use that..
