Indian Special Forces

The fact that he is so nonchalant while talking about using flare guns during a night ops while he is trying to prop himself up as a "tactical gear" expert is such an oxymoron.
He really thinks its fine to use that..
And he is the most humble down to earth guy.

A guy who seems the most tech savvy among the retired SF officers community.

A officers who seems to be very well read.

He's a pretty good officer, just that he's still not upto speed with modern equipment. His ideas of gear are still quite lagging, but he's at least trying to learn and emphasising on equipment. Otherwise yeah he looks to be a solid officer ngl

Absolutely not doubting his skills and accolades. I am atleast happy that he is showing an aspect of modern day SF that majority of IA's newly converted units lack in. The changes to kits etc are slowly becoming more visible. Far too late but a good change nonetheless.
I guess he is comfortable in his own way since he did it that way. I can only assume that 5 years down the line, someone who retired will tell us that during his op days they were not night blind and also not relying on flares.

BTW did you all see the photo of the 4 pigs responsible for this mess. They were holding guns with proper gun discipline, their AKs had a good paintjob too. I think they are ssg trained fidayeen, like the ones we saw in 26/11.
I can teach my sister how to hold a gun with proper trigger discipline in less than an hour, not that difficult

There is no trust that infantry units can 100% seal the perimeter of a encounter

Or

That infantry will get 10 times the casualties of a Para SF

Either of the reason is there for this.
Which is historically bullshit and just shows backwards the army is.

The reason they specifically designed RR was so both infantry and Special forces could operate in a conventional method. It’s pathetic the mentality IA has towards its SF

This mentality is why our SF is still stuck looking like this

Even RR and infantry look better than them
"Look" this is the problem with you guys, if a sf guy is wearing a lbv with lvl4 plates and rr guy is wearing lvl3+ plates in his pc you dumb people will still say rr guy is "better equipped" 🤡

lbv obviously has shit ergonomics. Do you see LBVs used extensively except for maybe recon? No. Pc is always better and much modern than whatever that is.

Marcos exists and look at them. Para has no excuse to be like this.

Except Level 3+ is perfectly adequate for green tip 5.56. We've yet to see black tip 5.56 with Tungsten penetrators that would necessitate equipping everybody with Level 4 plates. And it's not standard issue anywhere either. So yes, in practice RR looks better equipped (save maybe those Patkas). You wear level 4 to stop a .308 AP. And terrorists stick to 7.62x39 or 5.56 M855 because that's easy to supply.

Except patka do we have helmets that are effective against 5.56×45 a 7.62×39 ?
Heard recent new order of 20k helmets that are rifle calibre rated.
But currently all existing ballistic helmets are just pistol calibre.
With patka atleast from frontal arc you are protected from AK rounds.

Kavro ACH 1038-T will stop M193 5.56 and M80 .308 Ball at 15 meters. So naturally it stops 7.62x39 too at similar ranges.
