Thats some newly raised Para SF unit it seems. How the Pks are compared against Negev-7s? Almost all the guntubers like and rank PKM as the best GPMG ever made eventhough its some 60 year old design

Erstwhile Airborne unit AFAIK. Pikas are pretty good but lac of rails restrict the usage of TI/NV sights for night Ops. Plz don't go with the word of these guntubers, they've fired 100 rds at max on Pika that too in range, in combat the weight, size and lack of P-Rails is very un-pleasing...

These might be replacement for bren lmg for airborne units

Brens are reserved for AA roles only IIRC. Even when the NG-7s were not available, INSAS LMGs were used and now after conversion old PKMGs from other SF units are being given to barsaati SF units too.

I know and I meant both negev and pika lacks rail space to mount bigger optics thats why I shared photo of negev after looking at it can you seriously say that negev have enough rail space

Pictinary rail on negev best you can mount here is either holo/rds sight or acog like optic which will give you max effective range of 500 meter now 7.62 x 51 is bigger round it can easily used upto 800 meter here i am understating the range it is bigger round bigger range it needs bigger optic to utilise max potential
well with pkm upgrade you can get same rail space and mount holo sight or TI we already do it


Sadly for indian army sig 716 or negev or 7.62 just seems like fn fal more stopping power with no concept of how they can exploit its performance in himalaya they can get range upto 1000 -1200 meters

I personally feel pika mgs have no place as a squad automatic weapon when you have Negev/minimi but as a support weapon role, pika are unparalleled. Para SF also have vz 59, fn mag

NSG need to get completely overhauled including weapons, tactics and equipment.
