Those who reported to the unit. One misconception is that SG/NSG have probation which isn't true, both the orgs have courses to bring all the new troopers to the same level(at least on the stds of the unit) as most troops comes from Inf, MI, AMC, ASC,EME,etc., at the time of reporting really aren't a match for those coming from SF. After this familiarization & Skill-set course, troopers are sent to their respective Troops & Teams based on one's specialization.

I assume this familiarization is sort of like a probation only for them cause an ex SG guy on Millitary Mantra once said he was given tasks, pull ups, chin ups before every new event, route marches etc. I still do not know why he deleted that interview

guys you are over analyzing pictures, the thermal is on a flip mount, soldier can flick the optic to use it as an offset wpn mounted thermal.
Even infantrymen know this -

Do you know why they mount it behind the optic, instead front of it? If the reason is to use the thermal alone, instead of using it with the optic, then what is the reason for that?

Do you know why they mount it behind the optic, instead front of it? If the reason is to use the thermal alone, instead of using it with the optic, then what is the reason for that?

2 reasons -
1. Static surveillance with a weapon Mounted thermal during day time

2. The mount is multipurpose, pluck the thermal out and stick a mx3 magnifier or a mini hunter NV at any time, and both of these optics are to be fixed behind the primary optic.
