All progress made in SPG is pre 2012His Radio and PC is covering his Mags. hmm...
Paki SSG has a history of getting overpowered by our infantry.
In 1971, patrol of 9 Kumaon ambushed an SSG party, taking two prisoner

Similiarly, BSF also repulsed a few incursions by SSGs Liaquat company taking two prisoner

I mean, in the 60s Pakistani SSG did play a crucial role in routing Afghans from Bajaur. They were very competent imo until the 2000s.Any Special Force that has no big edge in training, weapons and tactics over a Infantry unit of the adversary has a big chance of being on the loosing side because the SF by nature is aggressively used and unless they can outmanuever they really dont have any chance.
Same is the story of SSG against India or their internal security.
Secondly,by nature Pakis are very impulsive and lack analytical thinking.
SSG could have been equipped like western SF but look at their condition..Even Taliban looks better off than them.
US SOF guys were literally company commanders of SSG..and these guys get killed in 10s in every operation.
Afghans were poorly equipped until mid soviet war.I mean, in the 60s Pakistani SSG did play a crucial role in routing Afghans from Bajaur. They were very competent imo until the 2000s.
Mujahideen training, Afghan tribals routing in 62 were all done by them. They aren’t a joke per se. These instances just highlighted better command and control from the Indian side
