It's not an AK mod, it's their AK inspired P-72 rifle.

Uses the long stroke piston, bolt carrier, magazine, trigger, well it's pretty much an AK...but is slightly tweaked in terms of receiver, handguard and dust cover design, with the gas tube most probably being non-user serviceable.

As for their AK mod kit, I'm pretty sure you can remove the gas tube.

I have so many questions but Ill limit myself to scopes: Doesn't looks like they have even a remote idea what a scope is and how to use one even if the rifles indeed has one!​

And you would most likely be correct. When the entire training regime is just Point and Shoot, I'd wager on the fact that they are clueless about it. Even if they would know that scopes/sight would act as a multiplier, there's no way they would know how to properly use it in the first place.

As of now no domestic orders, most probably trialed by some.

My only gripe is that they used a muzzleflash straight out of a 50 cal Barret Toph. They should've used a more functional 4 prong muzzle device like the one surefire made for the URGI M4.

Don't remember where I got this but found on my hard drive...seems the Para's M4A1 costs 2.1 lakh



At $2400, I sure hope that price is including the EOTech 512 and not just the rifle. But who knows.

A fully built Colt M4A1 costs around $1200 retail...military/LE version with fun switch might be more if talking about purchase price (though US Army buys them for quite cheap, around $700 cuz they ordered in bulk & through competitive tender). The 512 holo retails for around $400. Dunno if price of PEQ-2 is counted...LAMs are expensive as f@ck, no way you can get rifle+optic+laser for 2 lakh.

Do we put import duties on MoD stuff?

I think I remember the winning bid from SIG for the Army's 716 was for $990 per rifle (Rs. 85k). But small batch purchases like for the SFs can get pretty expensive.
