No one in their right mind expects police to shoot at 1800 meters, police snipers mostly work in urban areas with closer range targets.ayo what sort of a sniper competition is within a range of 300/400 meters, it's a straight up marksmanship competition no proper sniper skillset

I dont think these chaps have ever been taught how to shoot a rifle in their lives.
But in Indias case most police units operate in jungle like CRPF,BSF,SOG,greyhounds and even NSG.No one in their right mind expects police to shoot at 1800 meters, police snipers mostly work in urban areas with closer range targets.
