Nah that's the American in you talking.

This is the harsh reality - As India grows, USA will come at India at some point in the future. Could be 2 decades or longer or maybe even quicker if they think they can dispose off India easily. This is the right time for India to build it's only capabilities. Make peace with the fact that USA will never be our friend and start taking action starting now. India shouldn't be under any delusion regarding USA.

Spot on. Not suggesting that India be a vassal of unkil Sam. Just bide your time, grow in peace and pay off the big bully to stay out of the way. When the administration changes in 4 years, there will be someone else and they will extract a price too, but that's the reality of not being the biggest kid on the block or having massive leverage like China. India US may collide in the future, but before that ensure that they collide with China first so that they are both bruised, providing precious runway for India to grow.

Until then pray that India has a stable nationalistic govt, regardless of whether its bhajipao or some other faction, but someone that considers country first. Otherwise, all this optimism and bravado will vaporize in no time! Not many, especially the younger voters, who have seen 11+ years of NDA, remember what it is live in ghatbandhan govts of VP Singh, Gujral, Chandrashekhar, Deve Gowda, and then 2 horrendous terms of MMS remote controlled by madam X!! If they think RaGa is a better option, they have something else in store for them.
