They can carry out lots of retaliation if a full scale war with israel breaks out.
Israel is a very small country, no strategic depth, less no. Of targets, Iran has enough ballistic missiles to overwhelm israeli defenses and make a large percentage make it through.

Their air defense is not that great, tho not terrible either, they even have long range airdefense system.
Plus don't think their airdefense are useful against f35s.
