I've mentioned this before, nobody, just about nobody, likes to live with these Sikhs in Canada, and I'm guessing in the US and UK as well. There was an article in a major Canadian newspaper about how a large number of traditional Canadians in Brampton, Scots, English, Irish are slowly moving out of the city because they feel swamped by the Punjabis. It's only politicians who pander to the Sikhs for votes, and the media which of course loves a sensation.

That's interesting, because apart from Punjabis/ Sikhs, the ethnic Indian community tends not to cluster in large enclaves in Canada. The one exception seems to be Sri Lankan Tamils in Scarborough, Toronto. I cannot say whether that has caused a major moving out by the traditional Anglo Canadians. I do know that large influxes of Chinese into certain areas, causes many of those Anglos to move out of said neighbourhoods.

And it almost goes without saying, that when Indians are the more educated kind, and also smaller in numbers, there is absolutely no problem at all. They( we) are liked as neighbours. I figure the problem arises when there is a perceived ' invasion '.
