Language policy in today's age , and the increased regionalism present.how to reach consensus with various groups and anything else you may contribute

While I like shudh hindi like how ninda ji speaks even though its hard for me to follow. The problem is that in urban and semi urban areas hindi is not spoken its hinglish and with liberal use of churdu words and it doesn't help that it "sounds" not so nice. I personally do not care I like to pick up languages if i have time and it is an enormous icebreaker with peoples when they see that you are trying to learn their language.

I can't say for dumeels and maharshtra but in karnataka the issue is very simple . The absolute robbers and bandits that are ruling karnataka have only one objective in mind extract as much money out of Bangalores hype .. Be it land kabja or routing infra projects through or near their land holding trying to sell land outside blore at blore prices. Of course governance is non existant . So how do you placate people ? freebies of course but when the freebies impact fades and the overuse of state assets by said freeloaders causes crowding and suboptimal delivery of state services ... well its the fault of these naarthies ofcourse that crowd our cities and take er jeerbs,,, Whatever form of kanging it is, its just an admission of their failure.

Tamil become tanglish. Me and few years old batch will be last to have decent grip in Tamil. New Kids will be in tanglish only. This is problem across the world. Even English speaking peeps will not have command like their older folks. Genz lingo is there.

Whom do you think are all these Language-Kangers? Don't you think they look like those Youth thugs of Political Parties? They themselves know barely of their own mother tongue. You are looking as if it's innate problem but it's a problem that is created.

It was artificially created and sustained with backing of politicial parties. It's not as grievances of people themselves. The average person doesn't give a shit about his/her mother tongue. So trying to look for solution is not the way, because the very problem is unwarranted.

That's a gross oversimplification. There are lots of hard-core BJP supporters I know from down south, perfectly rational otherwise, who go apeshit when the language issue crops up. The resentment to perceived "Hinthi imposition" is deep rooted and more common in certain parts of peninsular India. It's less prevalent in Tulunadu than other parts of Karnataka, for example. Telegu speaking parts of South India seem more receptive to Hindi than other states there. The gaslighting over Hindi has been a longstanding, meticulously executed project of breaking India forces. Both the pro-Hindi and anti-Hindi factions of patriots need cooler heads to prevail to tone down the rhetoric in national interest. As much as possible, let things take their natural course.

Having said that, the harassment of Hindi speakers in Karnataka and Maharashtra is being solely done by Congress and regional party goons.

@A
This is how central govt doing Hindi imposition. Is this English?

it's a fairly benign thing , it's not something bad and in any case , parents teach their kids as how to address grandparents in their local language .also what's the harm tbh, they will learn some new words . ( Only harm I could find was that , they didn't specifically include that nani and dadi dada etc are terms used in Hindi and not English terms , it should have been included , if they were going to include hindi terms in a English chapter anyway, else grandparents was sufficient.)
I myself learnt about akka , Anna, murugan , vel etc words from ncert books ,when I was young .
There was a whole chapter of sayings of Saint tiruvalluvar in Hindi in class 7 .

@Gandaberunda
Mate , we all need to keep cool heads .
And ncert is well ncert.
I can't say anything about them as they are meme .
Get your child some other books for maths and science.
Bharti bhawan series is best for maths.

Even easier than that he can enroll his kiddo into state board, chose whatever local language medium there is.

Nibbas screeching about Hinthi Yimpojishan are like Bongs screeching about ebul Songhi attacking Fishmonger in Dilli but being totally blind, deaf and mute to the recent ethnic cleansing and rioting in Murshidabad :bplease:

I read on twitter that in the Karnataka ((( caste census ))) it apparently came out that the greens are 18.8% of the population there.
Dunno if true or not but DK wants to give them 8% reservation now.

But ofc in that state the voting masses are more worried about Naarth Yindian in Banglore, Hinthi yimpojishan and Amul vs Nandini.

All these dramas of language kanging, caste kanging and freebies are all to distract the masses

Well , i never wanted this to be confrontational thread .
Between hindi and non Hindi speakers , those are issues you which you highlighted are more pressing but they need a firm hand of government, thats it , but the central government needs to recognise some of the greivance of folks who are non Hindi speakers and adopt a more inclusive approach.
One step is to expose the folks of northern states to southern languages early on.
Also , daily interaction between public services and citizens in non Hindi states should be made more accessible by having signboards, forms etc in local language, Gyan darshan by IGNOU should air programs in local languages too more frequently.
So on and so forth .

What’s the harm? Why only hindi terms? Why not other languages words? Why should a kid in non Hindi state read tur daal masoor dal instead of English names? Why can’t the kid get Uddin bele kadle bele? Why only hindi? Is NCERT Hindi ?

Yes , ncert promotes hindi over other languages more
But how many terms for how many states , one way I see to rectify this is to teach kids about various terms , in other languages early on.
I learned about undihio from a social studies chapters in class fifth or sixth I guess . It was a chapter on makar sankranti, and various names of the festival was included like Pongal and ofcourse gujarati words described above .
More such examples need to be included . Or names for various things can be included in other languages and
Other language terms are indeed included but hindi is given higher preference, which should be lowered and more language terms need to be included.
Kids all across India read English names only, for most part in class 6 history book they have a chapter on Mehragarh culture and indus valley where I don't remember seeing any Indian names for the crops.

lol hindi imperialist got offended on showing how Hindi imposition happening 🤣

NCERT is a Delhi-centred, Central-govt backed education board, if the Yimpojishan is offending you, you can enroll your kid in some state board, or ICSE for the Queen's English.

It's not ((( imposition ))) since you have a choice, but whatever floats your boat

Anyway i think you are doing time-pass in this thread just to spice things up :troll: , if not, remember to vote for Siddamullah in your state next :truestory: , clearly Yimpojishan is #1 issue for you

I wish i was a Hinthi imperialist, but the current language is a ((( raita ))) of various imported words and not enough sanskrit based words

NCERT Hinthi subject is however the shuddhest of shuddh Hindi possible, it is so pure that even the dehati Dilli wala and Haryanvi will have trouble making stuff out.

So why are northies crying when they are getting backlash in non hindi states? Why can’t they work in their own Hindi states? Like if non Hindi state person can educate in non ncert syllabus schools so can Hindi imperialists can work and earn in Hindi belt states despite forcing non Hindi state people to learn Hindi just to communicate with them so that they can be comfortable?

Forget about the language issue , worry about your TFR in case you're an idli or from any other part of the south else in the next 40-50 years where you'd certainly be around & I'd have long croaked this little argument you're having an aneurysm over will be hopelessly one sided conducted by panipuri wallah & gutkha eaters in your favourite language - hinthi in public in Chennai , with you & your ilk helplessly staring on.

Always remember , demography is destiny & when in doubt , phuck . Always. At least that way you get to have more children & increase the state's TFR thus contributing your mite to society .

Alhamdulillah !

Chalo, I'll put a few things here about your typical language kanging party's true face, i.e they take the HINTHI YIMPOJISHAN voters for a ride, without actually removing the eebilll Narth Yindians, who also can't be arsed to learn the local language in depth aside from what is required for day to day

DMK/Stalin
Currently he has launched a Dravidian Invasion of the headlines, but two years back there were over-enthu "Tamil patriots" beating up north indian labourers and putting videos about it, this caused all naarthie to bum rush to the train station to get out of the State
It just so happened that their Factory Seths obviously didn't like this, so they rung up Stalin

Stalin comes out with the below gem then and continues with similar "Sab Changa Si" rhetorics, he even said "Naarth Indians are our brothers" but i can't find that quote article anywhere

North Indian labourers coming to Tamil Nadu is only beneficial: Stalin

Karnataka Congress/Siddamullah
Siddamullah and his colleague DK's whole plank has been Kannadiga vs "Naarth Indian Gujju party" in the last KA state election, which worked and got them the govt

Siddamullah then introduced a fun little bill that was passed to give 70% Reservation in Private Sector to Kannadigas

After his phone exploding with angry calls from the IT Seths, both local Murthys and foreign Googles, he then """"pauses"""""" the bill like a coward

Amid Huge Row, Karnataka Pauses Bill For Reservation In Private Sector Firms

Unlike most of these scams the politicians pull, Sidda can't even claim that "I tried my best dear voters, but those evil Milauds struck down my reservation bill", because he himself took the bill back, bending the knee to corporates.

TLDR is
Naarthie will remain in your cities
Naarthie will continue to speak Hinthi

You language kang leaders will take you vote and continue to scam you while doing nothing :bplease:
