Ironically, this is precisely what allowed the Christians greater movement and greater penetration. If it wasn't for that, it would have not kneecapped VHP and BD's activities and we would have had a stronger resistance to Christian missionary activities. That single act greatly poisoned the mainstream Hindu collectiveness against VHP and BD and those two groups never recovered.
