Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

Gh_JJI6W8AASYqr

I spotted plate carriers on the troops saluting.
How common is plate carrier adoption in the IA?

The pics they put on Twitter everytime has the boys with some kind of sleeveless jacket on which the mag pouches and all are there, it's not a plate carrier, that much i can make out.

What you described is not a PC but a fisherman's vest, tactical vest, which is worn over a, unit stiched carrier, which can hold a square cut plate, like a tandem arrangement
The vest itself is cheap and appears to be quite crude

Offers protection, does the job of carrying mags and other items required
But nowhere near as sleek, modular, ergonomic as some of the ones already in use by IA, mostly individual purchase, but apparently some unit level purchase too, which is great

These are Armasen ST-rigs, shooters cut plate carriers (these are more or less standardised with Marcos)
But the army mostly used square cut plates, Armasen offers square cut PCs too
If you remember that one exercise with Nippons

But I'm told by some other members here, as far as square cut plates are concerned, one maa durga enterprises PC is getting common which tbh I believe is inferior to the ones offered by Armasen

Thanks for the informative post, never knew what the vest/jacket was called or what plate carriers are used in IA

If you go by the different PCs used by IA, dozens of suppliers' name will pop up
In most PR releases from the border, There is absolutely no uniformity whatsoever

Googled up "Armasen" and turns out it's an Indian manufacturer, heard this name pop up a lot of places but never knew it was desi.

There are also deshi ballistic plate manufacturers including Armasen :bplease:

Question is why haven't these got mass orders and become standard? But then I know the answer.

Both this thread and the Special Forces one are an infinite source of blackpills, but also knowledge.

Armasen is not into actual plates; actual plates need heavy investment as you're fusing ceramic powder at high temperatures and pressure.

Armasen's field of expertise is 1000D nylon and sewing; so everything that can be made using these two from bags to palte carriers are more or less what they do.

Also Vinayak Sen should be an inspiration for FanBois; Bro too started as a FanBoi but ultimately ended up actually doing something tangible instead of just yapping on social media.

This entire thread is a waste of time by the way

The very people that should be driving this agenda internally are the ones justifying the utter disgrace that exists and demeaning anyone that would dare use their eyes

Decades to deliver nothing but a bit more time and all will be okay?

I don't think he's completely wrong, its just that the army has not followed a single modernization plan till completion, they always change it up in the mid process.
He is not justifying the current pathetic state like the other brats do but admitting the org is a 'bit' fucked up and in process to change

He is not some brigadier level officer, He can't and has not commented anything about the mid way change of plans but the part of following one

Like I don't know if I expressed it clearly but he only commented only how once decided stuff is standardized in the units and not commented about why the 'decided stuff' keeps on changing
