It's 2025 and still India is perhaps the only country among the top 5 militaries in the world to lack a full-fledged sniper corps and have old DMRs from 1960s as the only "sniper rifle" in substantial numbers. The official requirement of some 6,000 or so infantry snipers (apart from Spec-Ops ones) has continued to be on paper for about a decade now.

I can see how that happens - it occurs from having too many layers of bureaucracy to go through in order to get a RFP request accepted and each layer felt the need to add their own requirements no matter how ridiculous it is in order to justify their existence in the first place and therefore protect their paychecks.

We use plasma rifles that's why we do not publicize our sniper corps, speaking of which do I need to remind you our top-secret weapon which makes even chinks and amerimutts shiver in fear KALI!!!
