Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

The fact that the fckup had to be pointed out by civilians after it made it out on a public forum is just very sad.
Crazy how no one in the army noticed it, it would have definitely passed through many afsars eyes.
They want us to believe the majority of the army is competent. May be instead of importing weapons we need to import a competent force.

Damn. That scope photoshop is PR Disaster. Proves that Officer class living in its own world. Very few are seeing the reality of war is getting changed.

Remaining class is simply talking about import this, import that.
i think it's some sort of thing during so called exercises,as there were pics of them putting holographic sights in reverse in past too...but yeah they could've acknowledge it or just let the water pass under the bridge, but they got spooked out means they knew they f**ked up 🤷‍♂️
if my memory serves right, that US Navy officer that put his LPVO in reverse and hold his rifle inaccurately for that famous photo recently, was reprimanded over it...let's see if any heads roll here after this public fiasco

The scope is typically carried in here. Why ? because we are so cheap and spend so less on each infantry man, a rudimentary scope like this getting damaged somehow in transit is unacceptable to the brass. So naturally in the event of an ambush this guy will be busy fixing his scope while bullets are flying around him.

Where does this mindset go when importing polaris and other weird tyre vehicles which our local manufacturers could easily make if given time?

Well they carry more people, and you can parade them around. These deals are also usually artificially sweetened. We don't mind spending on big items, we have a big problem when it comes to spending on the individual infantry man. "They'll be fine, they'll figure it out". I suspect the lack of sniper culture in the Army over the past decades came from, or at least, was influenced by this cheapness. Not only are the rifles expensive, you need expensive scopes on them. Bayonet charges are cheaper. I doubt enlisted men even train with scopes in basic. Soviet influence did more harm for army's infantry tactics than good.
