Naxal Maoist Insurgency

Shaken by encounter that killed Chalapathy, 3 Maoists surrender in Chhattisgarh

Three 'hardcore' Maoists, including two women, carrying a combined bounty of Rs 18 lakh, surrendered before police in Gariaband on Monday - the same district where 31 Maoists were gunned down in a single encounter in Bhalludiggi hills last month.
All three were involved in the 72-hour gunfight in Bhalludiggi on Jan 23 this year, in which 16 Maoists - including central committee member Jai Ram alias Chalpathy - were shot dead. Chalpathy is the most senior Maoist commander to be killed in Chhattisgarh.
Surrendered Maoist Dilip, the deputy commander of Nuapada Division Committee, has revealed that insurgents are terrified after the Bhalludigi encounter, especially small-time cadres.
Thirty-one Maoists were killed in the 72-hour gunfight (Jan 20-23), including central committee member Chalapati and division commander Satyam Gavde. The slain Naxals carried a total bounty of over Rs 3 crore. The battle was a massive operation aimed at eliminating Naxal presence in the region

Hybrid warfare by Naxals

A man killed during a recent anti-Naxal operation in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandla district was a tribal and not a Maoist, an official said on Saturday.
The man, Hiran Singh Partha (38), belonged to the Baiga community, a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group, said officials.
Partha was accompanying Naxalites deep inside a jungle in the Khatiya area of the district, Balaghat Zone Inspector General (IG) of Police Sanjay Kumar told PTI when asked more about his identification.

“How come he was with the Maoists? This is a matter of investigation. Often, Naxalites move with tribals. We can speak about his association (with Naxalites) only after investigation,” he added.

Rudali by Track 2 diplomacy has started on behalf of Naxals

Amit Shah is saying that Maoists will be eliminated by 2026. What is the real strategy behind this? If any man is killed in the name of being a Maoist, it is claimed that the person has a bounty/reward money of 2 lakh, 3 lakh, 4 lakh on his head. It is Adivasi peasants who are killed in this manner, but they are called Maoists. We’ve even heard of 60 lakh and 1.5 crore reward money on people’s heads who have been killed. You kill him and you disburse the reward.

Bob the builder :smash:
When there are gram sabhas with a sarpanch and a secretary—they are supreme, according to the law—why are the paramilitary forces building roads? Give us roads that would take our children to the school and back, roads that would take us to the bazaar and back. But these big roads are not being built for the Adivasis living in the jungles. These roads are meant to establish connection with the mineral-rich hills. After exploiting the hills, extracting the minerals, they will transport them via the big roads.

Dance party! :headache:
You won’t believe, there are people lying dead—Aitu with a 4 lakh reward, Hidma with a 3 lakh reward, Joga with a 2 lakh reward; after killing them the paramilitary forces dance—they get DJs and soundboxes to celebrate. Why? Because of money.

Boot boost to corner Maoists in Abhujmad forest, 2,500 additional security personnel deployed

Around 2,500 additional security personnel have been deployed in the Maoist hotbeds of Chhattisgarh to encircle the rebels inside the Abhujmad forest before stepping up the offensive against them, sources in the security establishment said.
“They have been deployed in the core areas of Abujhmad forest, which was earlier considered an impregnable rebel fortress. Besides, the forces are setting up more forward bases deep inside the Maoist strongholds in the state,” said a security official attached to the Union home ministry.

The CRPF has around 60 battalions in Maoist strongholds, of which 45 are in Chhattisgarh.
Security forces have been using drones for reconnaissance and for taking real-time images of Maoist hotbeds inside the Abhujmad forest, spread over 3,900sqkm in southern Chhattisgarh.
