Naga and their largest armed group NSCN-IM are already frustrated with peace talks and stated they might consider returning to armed struggles.
Kuki- is a collection of tribes, how many I don't know but there is no such thing as Kuki individual tribe. Hmar, is already under Kuki tribe, to be it is fair to target another person holding guns, but to target children who have not even learned to walk or speak is cruel and unspeakable crime. I don't know what is happening behind the chair as no action is happening or it is chalta hai policy. If NE is not peaceful, especially in border states, it is a win for the Chinese, cause the India Act East policy cannot be completed and their BRI can be projected as the best alternative.

Myanmar isn't Balkanizing for the simple reason the rebels they're facing aren't a coherent lot to begin with , aren't ideological but mercenaries for the most part , have differing aims & are equally short sighted among many other short comings & vices .

How else do you explain that Rohingyas have collaborated with the Tatmadaw to take on the Arakanese ? Frankly how do you explain the Arakanese treatment of the Rohingya when the Arakanese themselves are at the receiving end of the Tatmadaw ? Yet here we are.

Rohingya were conscripted to fight on behalf of tatmadaw.
All the Rebel forces are ethno nationalist, each ethinic group is fighting for their tribe.
They are sure short sighted to lead a country but if we convince their leaders with money and protection they sure can merge.
Even if the Rebel wins all of them leading a unity government is unlikely as some groups like chin were looking for seprate state for a long time.

Sikkim was merged on 1974 only and when iraq fell kurds took the opportunity and formed Iraqi Kurdistan

I think the attack was near the Myanmar border in the south of Manipur. The attack was on the Assam Rifle, not the army. The local newspapers did not report causalities from both sides.
