Civilian buses escorted by the security forces resumed trips across districts in Manipur today amid protests by the Kuki tribes, who want no free movement until their demand for a separate administration carved out of the state is met.

To all those suggesting we team up with the Kuki Zo Chin tribes to take over Chin areas in Myanmar , look what's in store.

Kukis & their brother tribes are playing a smart game. They've seen how the Indian state subsidises states like Mizoram , Meghalaya , Nagaland etc which left to their own devices would be unmitigated sh!tholes like the condition of their counterparts in Myanmar & how successive governments have lined their pockets .

Add to that the access to their peoples & opportunity the youth get to be educated & employed across India.

So why not hitch themselves to the Indian bandwagon & enjoy the loot while enjoying quasi independent status legally under some schedule of the constitution within the Indian Union like the Kashmiris did till they started asking for too much & invited hell for more than 3 decades.
 
^ There was a Swarajya article that stated that Kookeez were "emboldened" after Meitei CM was dismissed.

Looks like they are in no mood to relent.

Burning of 2 security forces vehicles is very serious along with injuries to 27 personnel.

Even after this the Kookeez are allowed to carry guns as per SOO treaties.

Not sure what is the center's gameplan here other than - lets wait/watch & see.

IMHO, a stern visible clear solid message needs to be send across.

Northeast States were dehatis for long time. They simply hide behind your average Bihari dehatis who is the current punching bag. At least that average bihari guy tries to survive by travelling 1000Km works 12-14 hours in various sectors.

Meanwhile major % of North east Dehatis just indulge in bullshitting and patting each other for muh superior chooran. For the first time Assam breaking this curse with OSAT. This will increase industrial oppurtunities. Meanwhile other states even simple tourism, power projects were in back burner since muh tribals affected. But at the same time want free money from GOI.

they r attacking army,,,why dont army etc open fire nd atleast aim for their legs? Isnt AFSAPA already in manipur. this type of soft reaction is reason, why they hv no fear of army etc. i know its pollitical leaders doing. civilians attacking army people (i consider all army including BSF, CRPF etc) is most disrespecting thing to do in a country. we need to stop all their funding from churches nd drugs/opium etc money. 😡

There seems to be a bigger game at play which we're not getting clarity of. Securing northeast & WB can only be done if we get Bhutan, North Bangladesh, parts of Myanmar along with Sittwe port which can be direct link to sea ⛵ for northeast. Meanwhile al Bakistan is fast becoming a failed state.

Possible. If states all around us are failing & falling like dominoes one after the other, if we lack a game plan to annex them, China certainly does have a game plan & then either we can sit & rue our indecisiveness to glory like we did Tibet or be pro active.

All I know is this - the map of the world this time 2035 will be vastly different from what it is today especially in our part of the world.
