Based on chinese hull and help from chinese designers, but missiles/weapons seems russian.

They made the ship in their own dry docks. Regional analysts are skeptical about the steel used in it's construction.

That should be like 4% of their GDP. But Shipbuilding needs lots of manhours, means plenty of working class families got their bellies filled. ( i hope).

These shops are far better equipped than ours
Definitely chinese have helped a lot
That too in 5000 tons, definitely would have compromised in range
Hope we add atleast vlsrsam to our destroyers forget about CM and BM

why would north korea need more range?
There area of interest is korean peninsula.

This frigate size ship is a "multi purpose destroyer", the only reason it's the size of a frigate is because north korea doesn't need the range and endurance of a bigger ship.
It's similar to heavily packed small israeli corvette, which has radars, VLS count that rivals our P15 A/B destroyers, but displacement of only ~2000 tons, because israel doesn't need more range and endurance for its maritime area of interest.

In our case range is essential but we should have atleast second layer AD along with few vls longer sub sonic CM


Anyway it's a dream hope vlsrsam gets integrated to most of our destroyers and frigates

the extra p17B nilgris that are cleared will come with VL-SRSAM and VL-LRSAM installed.
And both p17A and p15 A/B will be retrofitted with VL-SRSAM and VL-LRSAM along and subsonic long range cruise missile.
Lots of available extra space in our ships, navy is just waiting for development of these missiles and some budget increase, both p15A/B and nilgiri are made with future in mind, their full potential is yet not achieved.
