We have a air defense unit in Gujarat. I don't know what Air defense system it is though. We just need to have the Navy near our coast line to Gujarat and Maharashtra. I hope they deploy a aircraft carrier and few destroyers ready to hit Karachi. Then they won't come near Gujarat. Anywhere along the international border is a risky proposition. As expected they won't use their precious jewel F-16. Because for one, Uncle Sam no longer gives it for free and two, F-16 going down will be very bad PR.
JF-17 getting shot down is no longer in doubt. It is likely they sent a older JF-17. They don't have the luxury of firing blind since all their missiles are imports. Whether A2A, A2G, SAMs, all are imports. They can only expend few of them at any time. Firing them in a volley like us will empty their missile stocks making their Jets sitting ducks. If they are planning to attack, all we need to look out is their AEW&C aircraft SAAB 2000 Erieye in the air. Without that aircraft they won't be having their Jets flying. None of the PAF aircrafts have powerful radars to guide missiles to their targets especially if they are going to do it at stand off distances. With it's 450 range, SAAB 2000 Erieye aircraft will be flying minimum 200km from the border. This leaves with 250km to have a view to our side of the border. I hope S400 can take care of that.
