Absolutely.Western propoganda makes you forget that after intial massive losses soviets innovated with cheap easy to mass produce rugged weapons like T34, machine guns PPK etc ...
Problem is ruskies also weak at narrative warfare, west has produced brillian ww2 stuff like Saving Pvt Ryan, Band of Brothers, The Pacific etc.... where are equivalent ruskie movies ? Anyway going OT...
This has again been proven in the Russian-Ukr war that uber weapon is an enigma and its the cheap workhorses which can tilt the war in your favour.
All the talks of Abrams, PZ2000, M777 have vanished as they could not even be repaired near the breakdown sites and had to be transported hundreds of miles for maintenance or were found inadequate for sustained fire - adding to the logistica nightmare.
That's what I am advocating buying simpler offensive weapons rather than waiting for more Rafales or hypothetical F35.
However, one thing we should learn from the west is how to tell their stories well( no matter how small or simple they are).
You are absolutely right about Russian equivalent of Hollywood movies.
I have scoured the net and watched everything russian about WW2 which was Russia produced and most of it is Sunny Paaji or Canada Kapoor type cheezy jingoistic shit coming out of govt. sponsored production houses.
However, if you look for military strategy, you might find awesome literature.
