Then you have S-57. I have written enough about it before why we won't go for another Russian fighter. If you have iota of knowledge about 5th generation fighters you would not recommend Su-57 for IAF. We need to counter stealth fighters of China and Porkistan(if they get one at all). One way is to counter them is through inducting a stealth fighter. I am of the opinion we should build advanced radars which can detect stealth aircrafts and be able to lock on to them to engage them first. Our stealth fighter is some years away, so why not focus on countering through radars and missiles first where we have some experience?

Yes ...No need for overpriced birds ..Invest in indigenous products ..Wars is all about inflicting cost damage to the opponent more than what he inflicts you .
Imagine you taking down J31 with Astra or Rudram or a drone like what Ukraine did ..what a site that would be ..your peanuts taking out their best ..

Simple test - if you go by what he's saying it's quite apparent the IAF discovered what the Rafale was capable of only during Operation Sindoor.

All this while they were flying the Rafales purely for fun.

The truth is that we don't know. It's all speculative at this point. Infact we don't even know whether the Rafale(if it was downed) happened by an A2A or if it was a SAM. Only one engine was found at the debris site, the other engine either it was cleaned up or maybe it fell somewhere else.

There's not much information out there, so everyone will draw their own conclusions. Honestly, IMO if the Rafale did go down, it is most likely due to restrictive RoE, not because it was supposedly not "datalinked with AEW". The FCR on Rafale(which can track targets upto 200km) is plenty good enough to guide the mica/Meteor.

The gormint has already clarified that next time we will hit Paki military directly.

Agreed. I'm tired of this tom cooper circle jerking by Indians. Too much bhakti of any firang expat is not good idea. We should not make them the infallible. What if tomorrow this same guy gets ISPR paycheck and starts writing stuff against India.

You may have reservations about the role GoI/MEA played during ceasefire, but that should be based on what you observed, not what other rival powers/vested interests said.

Deal was finalized in 2016 . If these stuffs have nt been worked out by now then it's disappointing . Its better to speed up domestic projects . Buying these stand alone platforms , integrating weapons , integrate them with IACCS is a 10 year affair . Now we have developed gan aesa , anti radiation missiles , bvr missiles , so many kinds of air to ground munition along with supersonic brahmos and brahmosh ng . All these ll be useless if we go ahead and spend more money on these platforms .

IAF shouldn't go for more Rafales and use those funds elsewhere. By the time these are likely to inducted in numbers, PLAAF will have substantial fleet of 5th and 6th gen. Maybe even PAF will be operating 6th gen. Over the last 10 years, PLAAF has built a well integrated ecosystem in which their platforms and weapons can operate effectively. The same is being built on Pakistan front too. Chinese are now building them up overtly as a counter balance to India (especially IAF).

SU30MKI is really versatile platform, I think focus should be on upgrading them and maybe acquiring more of these as the backbone of IAF. It can serve as:
- great SOW platform with Brahmos ER, NG, Rudram 2 & Rudram 3
- SEAD & DEAD with Rudram 2 & 3
- Controller for loyal wingman UAVs
- Decent air-to-air with Virupaksha AESA and new longer range BVRs operating in the IAF ecosystem (IACCS).

Other than this maybe inducting LCA mk1A in numbers to at-least match JF17 numbers [around 180]. Focus on getting LCA mk2 and AMCA through development and testing ASAP.

Also missile arsenal size will be a factor, PSUs current rate of production is abysmal. For tactical ASM, Brahmos and ballistic missile, I think the arsenal should ideally be at-least 2x of Pakistan and 35% of PLA arsenal.

In my opinion, if any third party platform that makes sense buying from outside (capability wise) is 1-2 squadrons of F35A with AIM120C8s and AARGM-ER. Even if they are minimally integrated within IAF ecosystem, these operating by themselves will be a force to reckon with.

It is network centric warfare, C4I, C&C, integrated air defense, layered air defense, ELINT, attack vectors etc. In almost all his twats, he does not use the popular terminologies. If you are a defense analyst, the first thing is to get your terminologies right. This fuddu is the laal topi of India.

call from both county or after talking with both countries ?, cause later makes sense if he wants to declare a ceasefire both sides are needed. what exactly is unclear here ?

russia and euro will repeat the what everybody is saying and rn the the official news is ceasefire happened , ceasefire no matter initiated from no matter which side, requires agreement of both sides to be in effect,

people need to stop trying to overanalyze words. this is non-issue here.
