With the existing engine capability of Kaveri we can still make the following to make up for the lack of fighter squadrons.

1. CATS-WARRIOR and CATS- other versions
2. GHATAK UCAV
3. UAV programs

This, and we can iteratively improve Kaveri in 10 years or so to reach the same level GE 404.

We can also build the Kaveri Marine Gas Turbine to become independent in Marine engines.

We will not have the capabilities that we have planned for. Maybe 80% than 100% but nothing we can't survive without. In the long term it's even good for us.

But USA would have lost India forever.

If PAF's capability is destroyed and IAF established air superiority then Pak Army's war-fighting capability can be destroyed with standoff weapons. I think the modern battlefield and where it is headed, should make Pakistan rethink the assumptions they made regarding the role of nuclear weapons in India Pakistan context.

They are already trying to move to a submarine heavy force, they won't rebuild surface fleet. PAF supports both PA and PNS, provide air defence & close air support for PA and air defence & anti-ship missile strike for PNS.

Taking on PAF will leave Pakistan naked for air operations.

Paf has "more visible" bite as airforce assets are considered high value and gets a much more stronger physiological response from humans when one is lost.
Paf has no capability to seriously challenge iaf after first 2-3 days in an event of full scale war, it's only localised conflict like 2019 strikes where they can show some teeth.

PA is still is biggest threat out of all pak military branches, biggest threat to life of people in our armed forces, biggest threat that will oppose taking back pok out of all branches of pak military.

PNS has done a lot of tinkering, localisation et al according to its needs, once they are taken out, it's not really easy to bring them back.

As predicted the offer from Putin was too good to reject. Su30 MKI became back bone of IAF because of all the local modifications we did on it and integrated all our weapons.
Su 57E local manufacturing is a win for us we can modify it time to time based on our will ( at present it’s half baked) even if Russia quotes exorbitant amount to do. HAL modified Su30 structure to carry on center pylon and the result operation sindoor we fucked porkies left right.
Orange orangutan will make us bitch for 40 years with his F35 which IAF will never consider. Anyhow we have spent billions on PAK FA already it’s our project our fighter as well we have to use all our avionics radar and only take airframe and engines from Russia.

I am thinking from US's Airland doctrine POV, IA doesn't go on the offensive right away and keeps a defensive-offensive posture during the initial phase, hold own positions and attrits PA using long range vectors, drones (incl. FPV) and artillery.

Let IAF and rocket force (in future) destroy PAF capability and PA AD capability in the first 1-2 days. Then IAF goes after PA war-fighting capability, IA also goes on the offensive with IAF CAS readily available. IAF assets will also be available now to support INS and deter PRC response.
