What I find baffling is why our defence analyst are clueless and very ignorant about modern warfare , even the seasonal commentators like Vishnu Som and Shiv Aroor are in the same bandwagon along Streamers like defence matrix

They are still advocating to fight tomorrow wars with yesterday's weapon . I find it very surprising that none of the analyst have the brains and balls to call for a improved strategy and tactics but somehow they are still fixated on importing 5th Gen platform . They are ready to spend money on platforms which are not even used by Russia in Ukraine war and is rejected by our military or trying to buy a AF which CANNOT be integrated with our system and making a very very expensive deal with unreliable partner ..I still cannot understand the rational behind it
You have to pay for infra , you have to pay for training, you have to pay for logistics and moreover you have to pay for spares which amounts to real cost and that too from external OEM's. They do love to squeeze money from us and we are allowing them to do . Its a bloody shame .

If that is the state of our esteemed defence analyst then God help us , I really hope against all hope that someone in MOD and Armed forces who are involved in strategy and planning have a forward thinking approach rather than making our Air force as a Stop Gap airforce

Regarding the Minesweeper part IN is going to put a proposal regarding that to MoD. IN actually is the sole part of our armed forces which actually has a vision. And those will be manufactured by our own shipyards if MoD accepts that proposal.

Ironically Indian navy is also one branch of our military which is least threatened by china right now&atleast till 2035, while also being most prepared and by 2035, if the current rate of development continues IN will still be prepared to take on chinese navy if they send 1 or more carrier battle groups in IOR post 2035 and retain domination, specially with the assymteric anti ship capabilities we are developing, similar to what China is doing it's df17, df21 etc missiles against US navy, their presence alone forced US navy to station it's fleet more far away than initial, with our approach we are preparing to prevent chinese fleet from entering IOR at all in war.
Allowing India to choke raw materials china gets from IOR( though this drastic action will only be taken in case of an "all out" war, not limited conflicts/war.)
