I think we are overcooking this delivery.
I think 3 things happened:

1. They tested our ADs and got a sense missiles can't get through or most will be stopped so no guranteed missile delivery

2. Our aggresive element of AD(S400) probably shot down a f16 after take off,meant their air delivery option was also gone. They can't take height and lob one into India or fire a a2s cruise missiles with any certainty of delivery

3. The less said about Navy the better. I think all their subs shat in their pants as there was no surface cover. Without surface cover, conventional subs will have limited life span. Also, I am not sure if Agostas are nooklear delivery ready

When you add delivery to this, they found that their whole deterrence from storage to delivery is fked up.

It's a bit of an statement to claim 13 based have been destroyed. We struck the basis & did some damage to runways, AWACS & Hercules lost But to render them "destroyed" at least a significant portion of the infrastructure & the combat jets or other assets need to go.

You are missing a major fact, MONEY. Except for US donated F-16, what major acquisition has PAF done or is capable to do, except for JF-17? Need I tell you how expensive fighter jets along with weapons and maintenance have become? A single fighter jet costs more than $100 million now. How many can Pakis fund? They are even buying only 20 J-10 and that too on loan.

As for air defence, what systems can Paki purchase? No one other than Chinese are going to sell them anything. Air defence is anyways highly expensive. A single Patriot system costs $2 billion in exports. Similarly we paid $5.5 billion for 5 S-400 systems. Pakis already used the budget to buy Chinese AD. What else can they buy in significant quantity? Even AD missiles are expensive to replenish. Attrition will simply demolish them

Apart from economy, another major difference between Pakis and us are domestic R&D and manufacturing. We can produce 200 Tejas Mk-1A, 200 Tejas Mk2, > 100 AMCA. We will replenish our Akash, MRSAM and other AD systems. We will develop our own S-400 (Project Kusha), our own sub-sonic cruise missile (LR-LACM), hypersonic missiles etc. Heck, if required, we will purchase more S-400 worth $5.5 billion. Can Pakis rival?

My point is that the past sins of Pakis are now catching up with them. All their Jihadism and sem2sem with India is now showing result. While we did the hard work on economy and R&D, they just bought some of Chinese weapons, trying their infamous sem2sem. They forgot that as Indian economy & R&D advances, we will just outspend them and we will also develop our own cheaper weapons, which they cannot match. They thought their nuclear bluff will save them, but that was called out too.

So you want to miss a once in a lifetime opportunity when you already have the enemy pinned down, and risk possibly taking unnecessary future losses hinging on the hope that Pakistan won't be able to learn or change anything from this skirmish, or acquire anything because of money (when the Chinese have already shown the willingness to give them hardware for dirt cheap/free to keep India locked down)?

You may get borne out by the future and we'd be tremendously lucky if that's the case, but from a strategic perspective that's a really dumb and dangerous way to look at things.

Why not make the whole place a 1km² concrete plaza, from where you can choose any stretch to do the run?

We need the bunker buster type of bombs which only the US has right now .

We did the next best thing which was to hit the entrance and try to stop access to them temporarily but that can always be cleared .

This guy is flat wrong that boron is ordered to dampen radioactive spills.

The scope of boron isn't to dampen radioactive leak. That is for lead. If they had broken bombs that is basically uranium casing torn apart and glowy radioactive goo exposed, pakis would order shit tons of lead and hide radiation. That is why lead shielding is a thing.

Boron is a neutron absorber( that is the main flying bullet we care about) and boron is used to smother a nuclear fuels or bombs reactivity.

But if it is a large area of concreted surface, then your runways can be effectively 10 landed. You can use the other if the main is damaged.

Well, your entire airstrip, especially parking and taxiways ( aka at the gates and the lanes where planes are taxi-ing to get in and out' IS an entire GTA-like concrete pad thats 100-200x by 1km long or so.

If you mean 'hey why dont we turn all tarmac on airport to runway quality and long' , its coz $$.
Ever been in a plane ? next time, pay attention to how much smoother a runaway is compared to general tarmac. its not only much more expensive to make, its also much more expensive to maintain once you are putting serious amounts of rubber on it - and believe it or not, you put FAR more rubber on taxi-way than on runaway, because of all those millions of tiny airport vehicles ferrying customs officials, baggage, passengers, cargo etc from plane's ass to the building - planes itself dont have nearly as many wheel as the vehicles coming to service them and this is a problem for runaways fyi. Not taxiways.

But hey,i you want to pay the construction company 5x the $$ for making ur airport and blow up budget by 10 fold ( coz airports are built by govt all the world over and govt is bueocratic sinkhole of $$), be my guest.

Very expensive, material intensive, maintenance will be a nightmare, difficultly of air traffic control will increase a lot, aircrafts landing in multiple direction will increase chances of collision or something going wrong.
But it's possible to do it, but better alternatives exist, like dispersed runway strips or highways capable of being used as runways.
