All the conversation about potential loos of aircrafts have nothing to do with the cost or being unable to stomach losses.
Potential loss of the best fighter in our inventory against a country like Pakistan shows that they can match us in capability despite being 1/10 of the economy. That's not good. It's also neither good for optics nor for deterrence.

What is the use of muh 5 trillion dolar ekanamy if you cannot stomach a handful of aircraft losses? Why even have a 7% GDP growth?

Also, pakroaches get roasted on a daily basis. A bunch of goat shaggers devastated their air bases only a few months back and we did not have to lift a finger. They do not care.

What options do I have to retaliate?

1. Blow one of my dams as false flag and use that as an excuse to hit high value industrial targets in India using PAF/cruise missiles?

Not sure that's smart because you're inviting Phase 2 of Op Sindoor.

2. Do a Swift Retard 2.0 and hope you can down another few IAF birds?

I'm giving this a 50% chance. Pakis are not known to be original thinkers and this is one of the few areas where they have a fighting chance. Hope we're better prepared this time and our AD is able to tackle the threat.

3. An equal-equal PGM strike on Indian mil bases in J&K. With an immediate statement that they've avenged the death of their inbred shaheed and call on their 3.5 fathers asking mudi ji to show ((( restraint ))).

30% chance. We will then hit their air bases and other assets, s we've declared already.

4. Atry shelling on LOC (which is on as we speak). Try and hit Indian villages near the border.

This has the benefit (from their PoV) that our response will be proportionate. Wish leader ji authorises salami slicing and land grab as the cost of any such misadventure.

5. Do nothing and downhill ski on basis that Pak fauj ne unke saare tayyare gira diye.

None of the above. Start a narrative of downing Indian jets. Keep claiming more each day, use their assets inside India like certain news outlets, certain defense experts, certain political parties to give these claims credibility. Convince their awaam that India has been dealt with, Pak Army is invincible & move on to next Dhando with intermittent terror strikes.

Thats what they will most likely do. Its the best option for Pakistan army

The real takeaway of this strike is: we hit multiple targets and the porkis couldn't do shit. Thats all matters. Not some matterial loss. The materials are brought only for this purpose. It should be porkis who should be worried not us. We can afford the weapons. They can't. Simple as that.

I think our guys would have been under orders to not engage porkies since that would make us aggressor. And it truly is testament that we did this without any losses, they were ready, they had balakot to look ahead considering all of those difficulties we achieved something remarkable.

Very difficult to question modi and his popularity . I have witnessed helplessness after 2008 mumbai attack when I was a young college kid waiting for the bus and reading it on newspaper in a tea shop .. nothing happened afterwards .. Those days were terrible when there used to be bomb blast by simi (student islamic movement of India ) from time to time . We indeed have come a long way .

Indeed, it’s a shame really. What’s the point of procuring these expensive and capable foreign platforms and technologies if we don’t even use it?

Ideally we should have employed EW (especially considering how capable Rafale spectra EW suite is) and jammed their SAM radars (SEAD). Then targeted the SAM sites with rudram anti radiation missiles and hammer bombs (DEAD).

Are you an idiot? It was Counter Terror Operation. So, The rules of engagement precludes any attack against Military installations. The Porkis however could engage us because we were invading them. The key takeaway here is they couldn't engage and stop our counter terror mission. Our mission is accompalished.

Who cares if we loose a material asset or not? It doesn't matter.

If it were upto me even if i had killed and downed their Fighter Aircrafts i would give them a face saving by letting them claim even their losses as my material losses. I won the real war. I don't give a rat's ass what they say.

Also who cares about a FC down or not. They are a tool and if they break during or after use. Buy new one. They had done their job.

Even best of the best armed forces like US looses their fighter crafts even against some rag tag militia.

I will care about material losses if i am in an attritional war and that too till the extent that i should outlast the enemy. So, I care about having one extra bullet than enemy and not some exact number. If enemy has one bullet, i am happy if i have two. If they have three i want four. I don't need some specific number of bullets like i need 10 bullets. Things don't work like that. So, don't be a wuss.

The mission was clearly a W. The material losses if any are immaterial.

Hi Suryavanshi, I had posted earlier that now is not the time to question our forces - but really, who wrote this so called 'escalation ladder' and who is stopping us from re writing it.
That's where the national security strategy comes into picture.
As already called out, we need to write our own strategy.

escalation ladder is not a official document, it's the theoretical wargaming done by civilians on the assumption that there are sufficient levels under the nuclear threshold for both militaries to execute their plans. the number if recall correctly was 26, meaning there are 26 steps starting with small arms calibre moving up the intensity and calibre ladder.

if you listen to gora commentary even today, they talk as if nuclear threshold is so low that any small escalation is just one step away from nuclear war. it is premised on the colonial and cold war narrative, that "third world" have no agency on their own, only the white man has all the answers. goras assuming nuclear threshold is low favours pakis, if we read thru transcript of all interviews given by paki government representatives on gora news channels, it's very clearly visible than commentary by Indians.

Really? I may be only a year old on this forum and mostly a lurker but doesn't make me a Paki. Only mentioned what someone I consider credible said. But I agree with what you say, probably need to wait a few days for the force to confirm.
