If you parse thru the narrative of credible commentators like Aroor or Hellfire etc they've clearly said all pilots have returned home safely & that some RPVs & UAVs were casualties which in any case are expendables. There's no mention of planes. Connect the dots.

1. 97 Extra Tejas.
2. MIG 29 Upgrade including AESA
3. Mirage 2K with AESA Upgrade.
4. SU30MKI Upgrade
5. Additional Rafale orders
6. Purchasing commercial EMB145 and make Netra MK1 (Increase the AWACS count).
7. Order extra C-295 to replace the AN-32.
8. Assuage Trump chacha by buying Chinooks, C-130 and getting F414 Production in India.

These are achievable in 5 years.

There are three wreckages so far

Bhatinda, Akhnoor and Pampore. Akhnoor is not even a confirmed wreckage, may just be a drop tank with no wreckage close-by.

Bhatinda has clear visual evidence and its a [deleted by mod - officially denied by IAF authorities] Other two are unknown.

Also, based on how deep these are in Indian territory, whether they are Pakistani wreckages or Indian, I can only conclude one of two things

1. Hot pursuit by PAF fighters well into Indian territory

2. Attempted retaliation by PAF last night and these wreckages of Indian interceptors or their interception.

I personally don't care, all IAF airmen are home safe. They have hit their targets hard. Losses are always to be expected - we are fighting Pakistan not Hamas.

However, if it was 2, we need to expand the conflict and hit PAF air bases.

1. Already confirmed that order will be completed by 2031 at the earliest, if no further delays
2. Already gone through one upgrade and 40 years old. No airframe life left for another upgrade
3. Same as 2
4. Only 90 planes planned to be upgraded in the first phase, and that itself will take more than 5 years.
5. Orders possible. Delivery for RafaleM itself will take 5 years
6. We are already going for bigger awacs on A321 platform, which won't fit on Emb145 anymore. So again not happening.
