Russia and ukraine both suck at fighting tbh . Even pakis fight better than them. Russian/Ukrainian combined arms doctrine is different than Western style doctrines, which India and even Pakistan follows.

I don't know where your views come from, but in my discussions with a few IA veterans, who themselves were parts of 71', 87' and a few who served+lost kins in Kargil, Russians are the best strategists in warfare and tough as nails when it comes to war.

This came from folks who actually fought wars so I respected their judgement.

This was also before twitter/insta age when internal news/psyops etc. were pretty primitive and Russian army internal stories and inefficiencies were not out in the open.

I have given some ideas on IAF Problems, some of them were achievable in 5 years.

1. 97 Extra Tejas.
2. MIG 29 Upgrade including AESA
3. Mirage 2K with AESA Upgrade.
4. SU30MKI Upgrade
5. Additional Rafale orders
6. Purchasing commercial EMB145 and make Netra MK1 (Increase the AWACS count).
7. Order extra C-295 to replace the AN-32.
8. Assuage Trump chacha by buying Chinooks, C-130 and getting F414 Production in India.

These are achievable in 5 years.

The most important for India for this kind of aerial operation is, for me, not here.
But AERIAL REFUELING CAPACITY

Why ? India has a enormous advantage compared to Pakistan : its geography.
But without a proper fleet of aerial refuelling, planes needs to be moved to a local area before launching any operation, which is everything but discreet.
The "exercise" , pretext to move the fighter aircraft from one side of the country to another one... Pakistanese are not fool. They were waiting for the raid, and they know exactly what to survey.

Other disadvantage is that the fighter aircraft need to return to their departure base, which are necessarily close from the operation area.

In France we launched multiple time in the past some air raid to a very long distance, like operation Hamilton, for launching strikes against syria. They received no warning before the planes launched there strike.

In western forces, they call that a force multiplier, is not for nothing.

There are three wreckages so far

Bhatinda, Akhnoor and Pampore. Akhnoor is not even a confirmed wreckage, may just be a drop tank with no wreckage close-by.

Bhatinda has clear visual evidence and its a Rafale (MICA and M88). Other two are unknown.

Also, based on how deep these are in Indian territory, whether they are Pakistani wreckages or Indian, I can only conclude one of two things

1. Hot pursuit by PAF fighters well into Indian territory

2. Attempted retaliation by PAF last night and these wreckages of Indian interceptors or their interception.

I personally don't care, all IAF airmen are home safe. They have hit their targets hard. Losses are always to be expected - we are fighting Pakistan not Hamas.

However, if it was 2, we need to expand the conflict and hit PAF air bases.

PAF has HQ9B with 260km range so it was employed with volleys of sams launched against all attacking IAF vectors

We are only talking about loses however there were multiple aircrafts which bombed paxtan at the same time while successfully dodging various SAM missiles aimed at them.. paxtan wanted max attrition however they could only target 3 or albiet 2..

Now whatever loses we had were during when aircrafts were retreating after dropping it's PGMs..

IAF for all it's ill i hv to admit hv earned my max respect they fought with their arms tied against their back where they had clear instructions of only targeting terrorist infrastructure..nd they did achieve their objectives successfully that's some massive resolve nd courage.

Now coming to PAF when faced with threat of facing S400 nd meteor they simply chickened out of fight..

Losing aircraft is not an issue to me its a war you are bound to lose equipment but there is definitely a point to be made on India not expanding its operations if our military was hit.
