Operation Sindoor

We have a air defense unit in Gujarat. I don't know what Air defense system it is though. We just need to have the Navy near our coast line to Gujarat and Maharashtra. I hope they deploy a aircraft carrier and few destroyers ready to hit Karachi. Then they won't come near Gujarat. Anywhere along the international border is a risky proposition. As expected they won't use their precious jewel F-16. Because for one, Uncle Sam no longer gives it for free and two, F-16 going down will be very bad PR.

JF-17 getting shot down is no longer in doubt. It is likely they sent a older JF-17. They don't have the luxury of firing blind since all their missiles are imports. Whether A2A, A2G, SAMs, all are imports. They can only expend few of them at any time. Firing them in a volley like us will empty their missile stocks making their Jets sitting ducks. If they are planning to attack, all we need to look out is their AEW&C aircraft SAAB 2000 Erieye in the air. Without that aircraft they won't be having their Jets flying. None of the PAF aircrafts have powerful radars to guide missiles to their targets especially if they are going to do it at stand off distances. With it's 450 range, SAAB 2000 Erieye aircraft will be flying minimum 200km from the border. This leaves with 250km to have a view to our side of the border. I hope S400 can take care of that.

It might have been a factor, particularly since in those days India was very sussesptible to western pressure.

I think that's what the HM has been doing talking to all CMs to make sure the 0.5 is kept in line.

what i was referring to, up until a few years ago what used to happen was, even for us regular folks based on whatever info is available in public sphere, you try to curate a theoretical solution, one would often end up with
arey yaar this capability would have solved this problem, that capability would have solved that problem, type situations.

more the capability, more the options to curate specific solutions.

Take out their AWACS and they are toast. They only have 6 or so. Expending 6 S400 missiles for it justifies the ROI.

I'd differ on that. controlling the narrative in the media has been very very important for the pak military in every conflict. in 2019 they did exactly that on mainstream and social media. even before swift retort, they had already released a presser saying that no damage done at balakot, only trees felled etc etc.

this time though, it's not been so easy for them (not saying that we're controlling the narrative either right now), and they are being called out on their BS actively. in such a scenario, they would be even more compelled to present evidence to their own public and the world that they had indeed shot down a few of our planes.

tbh, i dont have any such expectations from our forces though, to hold any press releases and say they've shot down a JF17. hamare waale alag hi professionalism aur gentlemanly behaviour ke nirvana mein rehte hain! :yoga:
